This was covered, however for some reason I think this thread was combined with a thread from the Toy Figure Forum. I like to have a thread not affiliated with it just to speak about Megs being a truck, and not really the toy. Though I don't mind if the toy comes up, but being this news is rather huge in terms of reveals, I think it's more suited here in the Live Action Forum.

That being said......he looks rediculous ha ha ha. I caught wind of the news after all the images were pulled by Hasbro, but heard from others cool descriptions of a cool cannon arm and less kibble and yadda yadda yadda......

Then I found images....and it's really just very funny. Now mind you these are images of the prototype figure, which usually looks less then their big screen counterpart due to budgets with the development of the toy. Even so, it looks funny. The cool cannon arm just looks like a barrel was riveted to his arm, from the waist down it looks like he was starved, it just looks funny.

On the plus side he looks to have two regular arms now, and he does have a cape hood thing going. However I'm just reminded it's a tarp and then continue laughing. And as someone pointed out, he looks a little like a bigger version of General Greivous soooooooo....yeah, it's all just funny jazz now.

I'm kinda curious about your "edit" B-money.

Without a doubt however, anyone who takes the time to go through all that trouble and editing for a youtube vid about Transformers....is indeed a true fan ha ha ha.

Even so, I would naturaly blame the concept artist and designers in this case being they're the ones whose job entails designing said robot in this thread....however after seeing the behind the scenes in the later films, Bay can and does get handsy with the designs themselves.....so I'll support a little Bay accredation to this lack luster Grievous inspired Megatron.

I'll even go so far to say I preferred the "Fallen" design....even with the T-Rex arm. That is until the cannon turned into some bizzare Davy Jones crab claw....

Ok the only reason I said bay because it's his gig and sure he did not design them but he gives a final say but I'm one voice speaking for others but not all, I know Hollywood stretches the quality of things but what movies have not caused pain to some but others liked! @josh nice one on the claw. As long as they keep there word and the stupid stereotypedtwins don't show up again I will be happy!! I mean that was just wrong.

I liked the Twins. They were funny. So was Wheelie, except for the leg-humping.

Had to do a lot of searching, but i finally found the pics on youtube. Take it or leave it.

Me too. I liked the twins, but Weelie, I'm not sure. I kind of like him, but I kind of don't. But he is 1000000x better than the G1 Wheelie though. I still hate G1 Wheelie.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Since another thread got thanksgiving and Christmas, I thought it only fair to give this one New Years.

Second, Messedupanime, I sent you a friend-quest. Drop by and take a gander at some of my madness up on yourtube.

And finally, how the vector did we end up from talking about Megatorn to the bloddy twins again? Aren't they suppose to die? God I hope they do die, they just remind me of something that needs to be swept clean. They're design is just so....so ugly. I litterally can build something better then what those twins ended up looking like, even worse, just like the Arcee Triplets, they too were suppose to be combiners. Yet that concept was also scrapped but for some reason they stood in the film.

Which is what I fear about Megatron, again there was a high turnaround demanded by the studio and again people did'nt recieve the proper time to give the designs the attention they needed. This is one of those designs which I hope looks worse in figure form then it does on screen. Which, funny enough, was the opposite of ROTF Megatron. I actually liked his figure form more then his on screen appearence....but eh, whatcha gonna do. either way, this piece of work looks so bad now I'm just watching it just for giggles. I'm going into this piece of work with the same mindset I do a movie on SyFy be it Giant Komodo or Shark-topus.

They whern't illiterate. Mudflap said he didn't read MUCH. Besides, it was an ancient writing that NO ONE knew how to read. Not even Jetfire could read it, he just came up with what he remembered.

I have to laugh. For the first time we get a glimpse of Megatron and how he will appear in the third film, there must e joyus debate and controversey and theories as to why he has such an alt mode, why he was chossen ot be a truck verses an authoritarian type of mech as nearly all the other have chosen....artistic critique into Megatrons design......tons of hype. But do we pay attention to the design?


Nope....

We are still talking about the twins lol. This, for me, speaks alot about Mega-trucks new design being it cannot even hold interest in it's own thread as subject matter. Goldilocks got more attention, and we don't even know what or who it is yet. I'd call this a failure really to spark new interest into a familular character though re-designing said character from what we have. I mean, the Twins stole Megatrons thunder....thats saying something.

Solid point.

Because Megatron's new wardrobe was leaked and then unleaked faster than Prime can transform twice in midair, every little rumor and minor character is getting more attention than whatever Bay is trying to hint at in the first teaser. But that's just how Bay is- all over the place.

you know... i actually like the new megs look...

im meh on the truck mode but hey its kinda funny having a truck alt mode for the leaders... almost makes me want to go out and buy a prime figure so i have two trucks to bash together kiddie style.

i like the cloaked look, kind of anime in a way and almost a nod to beast wars megs...

and at least he has (@#$%^ing finally) an arm cannon...

dont care about the twins, ice cream truck was a neat idea though.
