Because she's attractive. He needed the girl who was most talked about in terms of looks.
But it seems he's finally come to his senses that she doesn't pay off that well.

Actually it's done, too. In "Indiana Jones" Indy's father (Played by Sean Connery) was in one movie, and in the other he was stated to have been died.
But he wasn't a recurring character.

she got in "trouble" on a weekend away with Lennox and the boys
she fell in love with Skids or Mudflap

anything as long as we are told where she is.

Michaela finally noticed that her hot ass was better of away from the very average Sam and his deadly, DEADLY friends.

also at the beging of rotf the first time micela calls sam, sams dad says "In 2 weeks it could be muffy." ,hinting that there relationship is not that good

I'm actually sorry to see Fox go, especially since they're replacing her with some Victoria Secret bimbo.

After further research on the subject, I've come down to the conclusion it might have to do with calling your boss "Hitler" when your boss is jewish. Bay is known to be a rather harsh director, and Fox is known to be a precious little princess who runs her mouth on set, so the two had a strained relationship as is. That insult probably didn't help.

Either way, I don't think it'll impact the films too much. Something I believe is an aspect of Sam's character in DotM is that his life has sucked since the events of RotF. Lebouf was quoted saying, "He helped save the world twice, but he can't get a job." Maybe Michaela (sp?) leaving will be tied into that.

And to let my inner nerd out for a moment, Carly > Michaela already simply because Carly was a G1 character.

...Having a G1 counterpart does NOT automatically make for a better character.

Megan Fox and Michael Bay had a spat, and it wound up with Megan reportedly walking. Personally I'm hoping the whole Carly-replacing-Mikaela thing is fake because after the whole development of Sam and Mikaela's relationship shoving in a replacement like Carly is both forced and a really really pathetic cop-out. If Carly really is replacing Mikaela as Sam's love interest then I am going to shout "Katherine Hillard" over each time Carly's name is uttered when I go see DOTM.

It's irrelevant whether you were trying to or not. That kind of attitude is uncalled for.

Getting back on topic, it's more than just Carly being a G1 character. I dislike Michaela as a character on several levels, namely the fact she only exists to be the love interest for Sam, on top of the fact I have an extreme distaste for Megan Fox as an "actress" and a person. Hopefully the character of Carly will be characterized well, but right now it's pointless to toss predictions of doom about Fox's replacement until the film is released.

What I hope for, honestly, is that she's not a love interest but a female lead. If she is a love interest, I at least hope Michaela's gone for a reason that would make sense for her character. Leaving Sam for some shallow reason (since she and her actress are shallow people) would be perfectly fine with me. A brutal death will also suffice.

It's a well know fact on the working streets, that if you insult your boss or yell at him then you're very likely to be fired!
