I saw in a post here that some of you guys were wondering if Linkin Park will be back in DOTM. So I start this thread to shed some light. The news are from a few weeks and are not confirmed.

I found an interview for Absolute Radio with Mike Shinoda from Linking Park taken on August 27th 2010. In the interview among other things Shinoda is asked: "What if Michael Bay calls you for TF3?" Shinoda answers: "I don't think we're working together (with Michael Bay) on TF3. We got a good run with the first movies but our interests lie elsewhere at this point."

But that doesn't mean that Michael can't select a song from their new album. And the rumors say that he already did. And the song that will be in DOTM is Burning in the Skies. Here is the news:

The song is great though it's a bit slow but it would perfectly fit the end titles of the movie. I guess there will be another theme song that will be made by another artist.

Man, if this all pans out to be true, it would really suck. i was really hoping for new song for DOTM. Or at least one that has more of an up beat. Who knows who were going to get now. Hopefully we get a decent version of the main TF song theme this time around. (The Cheap trick version for ROTF was more like cheap crap)

This song makes it sound like DOTM will be a darker, more somber film... which I like. I think if it's true, it will fit.

Also, apparently some of their fans are shunning this song because it's a different style. Hmmmm, why does that sound familiar...?

That was my first reaction too my friend. But after that I really began to like the idea of a more dark and slow beat. After all this is the end of the franchise and I'm sure there will be some sad moments at the end of the movie and this song perfectly fits.
I think very soon you'll begin to like it too. By the way the whole new Linkin Park album is very different from the previous ones. After a couple of listening I think this is their best work. It has an enormous sound and music quality. But maybe that's just me.
by the way I'm a recent fan of theirs. I never new that they have so many fans. On the Facebook there are 22 million fans!!!! That's a lot of people.

The song... I like it.

I hope this isn't the end credits song to TF3. I like the song as a random ballad, but it just doesn't fit Transformers, regardless of the tone of the new movie. I hope Bay was kidding.
