Am I commiting a sin?

I am turning to my fellow TF friends to help answer a question for me. My sons pinewood derby race is in 2 weeks. I just recently purchased Barricade and when I brought him home my son immediately decided that he wanted his car to be him. So we have come to the conclusion that we will purchase another Barricade, strip it of everything we can and place the parts on his pinewood derby car. In doing this will I be angering the Transformer Gods and subsequently dooming his car from even crossing the finish line. Or will the Transformer gods smile upon us because imitation is the ultimate form of flattery? He actually wanted a Optimus Prime derby car but flames and all I knew it wouldn't be the fastest thing out there. It has to do with physics.
Any suggestions?

As you can see from my rank (Under my screen name) I am one of these "Gods of Transformers."
And, yes, I am most displeased.
The only way to please me and absolve yourself is to send me $50,000USD. In cash.
Just kidding. It's $100,000.

Pleased, displeased, you'd still ask him for $100,000.
I think it's a cool idea. Now if you could convince another kid to do BB and have them race each other it would be sweet!

My suggestion would be to bore out the center of the wood and fill it with a steel slug....And then make it up to look like Barricade. That thing would go so fast down the hill it would make peoples jaws drop.

it can't be a sin if the roman catholic church isn't trying to prevent you from doing it.

It might be against the rules-- we were only allowed to modify mine by whittling and adding small wooden panels-- grafting on parts like plastic or metal plates actually got many disqualified...
But the eventual land-slide winner was a kid who just took the original carving block, spray-painted it bright orange, and stuck the wheels on.

I don't think it's a sin. However, what you're actually planning sends the Awesomeness meter through the roof.

Well tigertracks must have ESP. My other son, who actually isn't a scout yet but we built him a car anyways just for fun, decided that he wanted his car painted like bumblebee. We had already cut the car out to look like a Ford GT but it will be yellow with the black stripes.
Our rules allow us to add pretty much anything onto the cars as long as it doesn't go over 5 oz. I will take ALOT of pics but I will need someone to help me post them afterwards.

A sleek car like barricade could still compete. When i was in Cubs, heck, I won a derby with a car shaped like a LIMO. As long as you know what you're building, it can compete.
