Decep deaths: Yes, but no if...?

Should it be appropriate for us to assume that specific Decepticons will be protected from death in Dotm, by the Dotm writers (or Hasbro) on the grounds that they have died in other TF realities to produce new characters? That is, would Hasbro keep a character who eventually yields a Herald of Unicron/other notable in reserve, or just import the herald/other later on a standalone explanation and reason for existence?

eg:
Starscream:Ghost of Starscream, (maybe Sunstorm(?))
Megz: Galvatron
(Scourge,General Thrust,Cyclonus,Goldbug,Armada Wheeljack,Battle Ravage)etc.

This would imply that some of the existing villains are interchangeable upon death with new villains, but also new factions.
Galvatron is perhaps the immediate contender for being imported without killing off Megz.
Such an action could cause us, as fans, but also a receptive audience, to Assume events will go one way but surprise us with another direction. (eg seeing Galvatron immediately implies Unicron, but can imply interdimensional war instead).

I think Starscream will die but for good no ghosts.
Megatron should turn to Galvatron at the least
Two (or both if only two) of the Dreads could turn into Cyclonus and Scourge
Ironhide could turn into Armorhide.

It'd be nice to see all 4 of those guys on live action screen.

They said they'll be introducing Unicron but we haven't heard any reports of the sort.

Since Galvatron isn't ALWAYS linked to Unicron, it would be kinda cool if Megatron "in disguise" with his cloak was calling himself Galvatron to stay hidden... I doubt they'll do the Unicron angle in this movie... there is already too much going on. But who knows... I'm not Michael Bay!

*BOOM!*

They seem to have no problem killing off characters and them bringing them back to life (Prime, Megatron). They also don't seem to have any problems with veering way off the fan's expectations. I don't see why previous G1 fiction would influence how they introduce new characters.

Simply because the director is changing could be a window for the old fiction to provide influence (bearing in mind all 3 Bayverse films will also be old fiction when the new director steps in).
