According to this website, Dark of the Moon's run time is 109 minutes, the shortest of the trilogy. The first film was 144 minutes and Revenge of the Fallen was 149 minutes (149 and 20 seconds in IMAX )

Of course, this is just speculation at this point. I personally thought the pacing of the first film was great but the second film could've been trimmed.

The biggest benefit of this is having more screenings in a day, meaning more profit. It'll be a leaner story as well.

They obviously didn't want this one to be really long like ROTF was.

Fingers crossed for a Director's Cut with additional footage when it comes to DVD.

Good, I was hoping for around 2 hrs 30 mins like the first film. That was really cut and paced well. The second would have been good at that length of time if the story was any good. That 109 minutes scared me a bit...

Better be more than 2. And the pacing of the first one? Sucked. It was awful. Watch the fan edit, you'll see quality without the crap.

I know you are making plans for when you finally get to see Dark Of The Moon unleashed. Maybe you need to plan for what size popcorn and drink to buy. If you want to know just how long you get to enjoy your favorite Robots In Disguise on the big screen, the answer was tweeted.

@S4TE is the official Michael Bay.com twitter account and they tweeted that the DOTM run time was approximately 134 minutes. That's 2 hours 14 minutes if you don't want to do the math. To put this in perspective, the first movie ran 144 minutes and ROTF ran 150 minutes.

That's the shortest of the trilogy but do they make the best use of that time? You will find out come June 29.

I felt like ROTF could"ve been trimmed to 30 min. shorter. it seems like this will be leaner and meaner. high hope for this movie, it could be the "last crusade" of this trilogy. if it does end up only being a trilogy.

Too bad it's only 134 minutes. 134 minutes of heaven.

It's not like this is a short film, it's just over 2 hours, that's very common movie length. And it's only, what, like fifteen minutes shorter than ROTF? The only person who would be able to notice the difference while in the theater would be Rain Man.

Comments like this crack me up. At least 80 mins of Transformers!?!?!?! The movie is called Transformers, they should be in the entire length of the damn movie. And don't feed the whole "CG is expensive" crap either. This film franchise essentially prints money, it's Bay's golden egg goose. So they got the money for CG.

Sorry bout the rant. Now to the topic at hand.

2 hours 14 mins, quite lengthy. Not sure if that's a good thing. The first 2 movies were way too long(my only gripe about the first one, one of many about the second one), alot of fat coulda been trimmed from both flicks, lotta useless nonsense coulda been cut. The pacing coulda been tighter. So I'm imagining that there's gonna be alot of useless nonsense that could be cut from this one as well.

This reminds me of the comments about Quantum of Solace being shorter than Casino Royale, when in reality, Solace didn't feel short at all, While Casino Royale could of been trimmed in quite a few scenes.

This is very true. Between the light-saber fights and space battles, I remember my mind wandering every so often when I watched Revenge of the Sith at the theater. I wondering when the movie was going to end. I've watched longer movies before, but Revenge of the Sith just made me phase out and start counting the pieces of popcorn in the bucket.

The action scenes were nice, but the whole Amidala/Anikin thing...eh.

Folks, I'm not trying to be mean, I swear. I'm actually trying to help you here. But...didn't any of you read the updates or the news, at all?

This will be the third or fourth time I've posted it, hopefully someone will read it instead of having to ask...

DOTM will be released in 2D, 3D, and IMAX/IMAX 3D.
The film was not made using IMAX cameras, hence no IMAX footage.
The first report was 134 minutes. (2 hours, 14 minutes, making it the shortest of the three.)
The second report was 153 minutes. (2 hours, 33 minutes, making it the longest of the three.)
The third report was that IMAX would receive the 153 minute cut, and regular theatrical would receive the 134 minute cut.

Both Bay (via Tweeting) and Nelson (via ShootForTheEdit forums and a direct phone call to Bay himself) have confirmed that there is no special IMAX edition. There is no special footage, no extra footage. The film, that everyone will see, is 153 minutes with end credits. The actual film itself, minus those credits will be 2 hours, 22 minutes. That means there's 11 minutes worth of credits.

That's the final word on it. 153 minutes WITH credits. 142 without credits.
