New 2007 Transformers ILM Featurettes

Lets take a ride into the past. With Transformers: Dark Of The Moon still a month and a half away, Industrial Light & Magic has uploaded a couple new featurettes for the first Transformers live action film. These videos show off the magic that ILM performs.

Industrial Light & Magic visual effects supervisor, Scott Farrar, discusses the effects work on "Transformers."


The first video talks about lighting and photographing Transformers scenes. ILM has disabled embedding so the video can be seen here.

Very interesting. Makes me realise just how amazing the robot effects are in the films.

Very cool. It's amazing how real they make this stuff seem and how much work goes into it. I loved this battle between Optimus and Megatron; I think it was done perfectly.

ILM - The Magic Behind the VFX of Transformers Revenge of the Fallen

ILM has uploaded another behind the scenes video from the past to their ILMVisualFX channel. This time it's a look at the VFX of Revenge Of The Fallen. They discuss Michael Bays shooting style, and the work and detail that went into bringing Devastator to life. The video can be seen here, however it's been embedded below.

i still wonder one thing even after all these years of enterviews with the crew of the transformers movies:

when and how did michael think of the idea of having a live action transformers movie?
and if michael didn't who did?

And another thing, thought dream works did the cgi for the tf movie franchise.

Goes to show; say what you like about the films, at least the VFX are top notch! (Of course it wasn't just ILM) Hard work done by all and to all a very well done! :APPLAUSE:

RotF? Way to be current ILM. Even without his immediate direction, all things Lucas still manage to recycle the past as the present… I-)

Steven Speilberg is the one who originaly brought this idea to life i still remember when he and dreamworks pictures announced that they were going to do a live action film.

my problem is, where are all the cool characters going? Jolt, gone, or so it's said, Twins, out the window, Barricade, POOF! Gone like the wind..... Let's hope they at least bring barricade back into this.

I'm mad Jolt and Barricade are out, and glad the Twins are.

Jolt was killed in the comics so he's out.

I forget what happened to Barricade :-?
