Transformers: Dark Of The Moon Gets PG-13 Rating

Box Office Mojo is reporting that Transformers: Dark Of The Moon has got a PG-13 Rating. Just like the two previous films in the series. The reasons the MPAA gives for the rating include:

intense prolonged sequences of sci-fi action violence, mayhem and destruction, and for language, some sexuality and innuendo.

You can discuss the rating below.

Let's hope they go easy on the innuendo. I usually find myself fastfowarding through much of ROTF because it was just too much. I'm all for a nasty joke here and there, but not at every possible opportunity. It is ok to use a little intelligent humor sometimes too... Just saying.

Well, at least it isn't:

intense prolonged sequences of sexuality, innuendo and insanity, mayhem and destruction, and for language, some sci-fi action violence, and minimal plot discussion. Contains hillbillies.

I'm relieved that the rating doesn't mention crude humor. Hopefully there will be far less than ROTF (preferably none).

Kinda expected for it to be PG-13. I hope this is a long BUT SATISFYING movie.

The innuendo in that post alone would make Orci & Kurtzman blush.

In a Micheal Bay movie, yeah that ain't happenin'.

Sexuality and innuendo bothers me. Call me crazy, but imho that doesn't need to be in a movie about gigantic alien robots in the midst of an intergalactic civil war. But not seeing crude humor in there puts a little ease in my mind. Hopefully this won't be as juvenile as ROTF.

Don't you just love it when the entire general population shares the same opinions as the critics?

Me either. People always take what the critics and the rest of the general population say without thinking for themselves.

The last thing I want to see in this movie are dumb, forced sexual puns. Look forward to crap like dogs humping and marijuana jokes. :BANG_HEAD:
Do the writers have any faith in this movie that they have to include stupid sexual jokes to get in a laugh. The worst part is, when I saw the various sexual comedic releif in ROTF, I didnt even laugh I just groaned. Besides, what really gets me laughing is action scenes, like Prime ripping off Starscreams own arm in the forest battle and then beating him with it. Thats real comedy that isnt forced and in turn is funnier.

^Wow, you got some disturbing thoughts on what you think is funny. Eh, ROTF had it's moments for me. I still laugh when Wheelie is sneaking into the shop, the whole dialogue during when Sam was being a smart ass with the jock when Bumblebee drove up to the school, Sam screaming when he realized the chick was a Decepticon, and some of the twins antics were funny. "It's supposed to hurt, that's why it's called an ass whooping", "Look at this mother..........".It's not funny now, but I remember the theater exploding when Leo tazed himself.

Heh, since this is going to be a hard PG-13, maybe they'll have Ironhide say the "F" word. Seems to be right up his alley.

They said "f***" twice in the first movie (almost 3 times.) and once in ROTF, so yeah; they may.

Dude, Leo tazing himself was the third best part of the movie. Everything from Prime's body landing in Egypt to the death of the Fallen was #2, and the Forest Battle is a close #1.

Still, glad to see DotM avoiding a PG rating.

Really. What parts of the movies and who said them?

I caught the F bomb being dropped in Rotf when Sam gets shot by Megatron. Megan fox says someone F-ing do something. It's barely noticable as there's so much background noise I thought she just said someone do something.

I don't recall a single F bomb in the first film and i've seen probably a dozen times. Epps says whoa mutha but he gets cut off before he swears during the Scorpanok battle. They say alot of other stuff but not that.

I don't recall an F bomb in the first one either. Just close calls. I thought Wheelie said the F word when he was stepping into the rat traps, but it ended up being fecking or frecking house of horrors. Still, it was very funny. Glad to see him return in the second one.

So, whose excited that Prime is going to have his G1 trailer for the first time in live action? And you fan boys don't think the film makers don't listen to you!

of course only does who adore the tranformers movies are thinking for themselves, those who dislike it are doing it because they are sheep

What is intelligent humour, well if you have to ask ? Its very subjective, but one interpretation would be, where there is an implicit and unspoken contract between performer and audience, where the audience expects that the performer includes a modicum of wit and observation about the absurdities of the human condition and the performer assumes that his audience has a modicum of intellect and learning.

What would not be defined as intelligent humour, for some it would be

- Robots P**sing on people
- dogs humping
- robots humping legs
- jokes about small people where the joke is they are a small person
- jokes about hash cookies which are decades out of date
- crass offensive racial stereotypes that even the writers of Norbit (scarily norbit had writers)would find too low brow and idiotic
