Here's a couple screen caps from the trailer. First, there is a bot to Optimus Prime's left that I don't recognize. He looks kinda like a mad scientist or something! Anybody have any info on him?



I think the next one is pretty significant. While Optimus Prime speaks with Sam, there is a huge spacecraft behind him, poised for liftoff. The Space Shuttle Discovery is attached to the craft, and a blue NASA logo is also present on the large craft.



I'm really not sure about the bot, but maybe he is supposed to be one of the new smaller Human Alliance characters. He's smaller than Bumblebee, so maybe.

As far as the spacecraft, I think it is the means in which Optimus Prime and Co. go to the moon to investigate the Ark crash site and reactivate Sentinel Prime.

Whattaya think?

The bot in the first pic is Wheeljack.

The space shuttle is NOT a Transformer, just a spaceship that the Autobots use to go to the Moon and later trick the Decepticons into thinking they're leaving Earth, setting up for a surprise attack. I can't remember its name, starts with an X.

Um, I never said the Shuttle was a Transformer. :/

Thanks for identifying Wheeljack. Now the head makes sense. I wonder though, why is he so small? Shouldn't he be at least the same size as Bumblebee? I know I cut BB out of my pic, but he is way bigger than Wheeljack. Interesting.

Oh, i wasn't referring to you saying anything specifically, I just wanted to make it clear before others jumped in with the guessing game of who it might be. I'm just trying to prevent a mistake I made earlier when I first saw that shuttle and thought it was Silverbolt. It isn't.

Wheeljack is supposed to be a nerdy inventor mostly like in G1, so he's not a fighter. He doesn't need to be hulking.

True, but since I am used to his alt mode being a passenger/racing car that is roughly the same size as the Bumblebee Camaro, it was a bit of a shock to see how much smaller he is. It's funny how their sizes are reversed from the G1 cartoon.

True... when I first saw the trailer I thought Prime was mad, and was leaving Earth forever.

I nearly plotzed (look it up) when I saw Discovery in that shot! I really really hope that this will lead to a new space shuttle TF toy, even if she's not a Transformer in the movie. Kinda like Movie Landmine, whose alt mode was in the 07 movie.

What an awesome way to showcase the shuttles in the last year of their active duty. I wonder if she'll be called the X-71, after the Armageddon shuttles...

I just wonder if they used the Discovery space shuttle as a reference point before they CGI'd OP in and haven't cleaned up the rest of the shot. Odd the Autobots would need human pilots to get their ship into space or is it a joint venture by piggybacking the shuttle onto their ship?

I'm sure it's a joint venture. Even though the humans have proven to be treacherous time and time again, Optimus Prime probably preferred it that way.

Optimus Prime cant be mad and then leave. Optimus knows that they have to protect earth, however, there may be the humans forcing them to leave, like last movie prime said that "If you make that request, we will honor it."
