I would rather not... Novels kinda ruin the movie, Rotf's as nothing like the movie, but prime still died.... it might also give false hope for the movie plot

Got my copy yesterday and began reading it last night. I just wish they had put out a book to bridge the gap between ROTF and DOTM like they did with The Veiled Thread which bridged the gap between the first Transformers and Transformers Revenge Of The Fallen. I love the fact that the books for the movies themselves are based on the screenplay so a lot will be in book that wont make to finished film.

Got my copy yesterday finished it about an hour ago. It really is a wild wide. I know there will be some hardcore fans out there that will always hate on it. But the story is solid in my opinion. Def worth the read! :KREMZEEK:

I know what you mean. It was driving me nuts not having that tie-in book to read during the span between films. I've re-read the entire set from "Ghosts" to "RotF" all back to back but it just doesn't make for a decent set up to TF3. There is so much they could have done with that span of time.

SPOILERS ABOUT THE NOVEL

I read the novel yesterday on Amazon Kindle. This post contains many spoilers from the DOTM novel. I cannot say how to true to the movie the book will be but I was very disappointed with it.

Some notable things
-Optimus and ratchet go to the moon on a NASA shuttle and bring back Sentinel Prime and five pillars. Pillars are used to activate the space bridge. Decepticons have hundreds of pillars.
-Soundwave is a Mercedes.
-Cherobyl was caused by Russian scientists ttying to harness the power of one the fuel rods from Sentinel's ship.
-Russians had rovers on the moon first to see the Ark but USA was first to get an Astronaut on the moon. There were several missions to the moon.
-Sentinel Prime had struck a deal with Megatron on cybertron to end the war using the space bridge Sentinel created. Now working with Megatron on Earth to bring Cybertron in orbit (by creating a massive space bridge) of the Earth and use the resources and humans to rebuild Cybertron to save their race.
-The Wreckers rebuilt/built the ship that you see behind Optimus in the movie trailer. It was a NASA rocket that they converted.
-Megatron is still severely damaged and has hatchlings on Earth and is taking care of them.
-The tentacle thing is called a Driller and controlled by Shockwave.

Autobot Deaths:
Mirage - killed by Starscream
Wheeljack - killed underwater by several decepticons
Skids - killed by Sentinel
Mudflap - killed by Sentinel
Ironhide - Killed by Sentinel
Sentinel Prime - killed by Optimus and Megatron

- Leadfoot got his leg blown off my Soundwave but didn't die
.

Decepticon Deaths:
Shockwave - killed by Optimus
Soundwave - killed by Bumblebee
Laserbeak - killed by Bumblebee
Starscream - killed by Sam
Crankcase - got ran over by a human named Dutch.
Hatchet (dread) - killed by Bumblebee
Crowbar (dread) - killed by Sideswipe
Two other dreads unnamed - killed by accidently driving into Ironhide and being smashed to pieces

Conclusion:
After Optimus and Megatron defeated Sentinel they agree to work together and stop fighting. Megatron will return to Cybertron with his army and then send for the autobots to bring them home.

No sign of Silverbolt. All the dreads were suburbans.

Does Sam just right out kill Starscream, or is Megatron carrying his head around on a chain?

It's kind of weird that Shockwave doesn't kill anyone.

Well Starscream had a hold of Sam and Major Lennox but Wheeljack had designed these grappling gloves and boom sticks for NEST team and Sam shot his grappling gloves in into Starscreams eyes. While Starscream was freaking out he also put the boomstick in his mouth and Starscream hands were to big to get it out.

Shock wave also killed some humans.

I really hope Megs ends up looking like all the CGI game and concept images with some visable damage but mostly repaired in the final movie. On a positive note he doesn't die and joins Ops, which I think is good ending, assuming that makes it to the final cut.

Seriously? That's the movie? Optimus and Megatron find a bully they both don't like and after beating him up, they agree to be best friends and play nice forever?

If this is anywhere near what the movie is gonna be, I got just four words...

F$&@ you! Michael Bay!

Terrible story, worse ending, it's ROTF2.

Why? It seems to be, by far, the most solid plot of any of the three movies.

About the spoilers (being a person who actually READ the book): this spoilers feed is extremely bias toward the movie being bad. it's obvious the guy hates the movie franchise, so dont let what they say push you toward the "bay raped my childhood" sector! (not to mention their depiction of Starscream's Death Wasn't even acturate.)

Most of the book, is written through Optimus's point of view, any part w/ Optimus really, and IMO helped me come to grips with what actually happens, to to be honest, I was satisfied with the ending (and reading what OP was thinking throughout the whole conflict and resolve helped too).

Basically in short, I finished the book in less than 24hrs. It is a page turner and you will lose track of time while reading it. Strongly suggested that if you're going to read the article for spoilers, invest a little time and actually read the thing.

And yes this is coming from someone who did have issues with the story and the previous two films, and no.. I'm not on Hasbro's or Bay's payroll
