Too much negativity. Time for something positive!

Recently I've noticed an upward trend of discussion on this forum that are swinging toward more hostile attitudes. I'll even admit I got caught up in it myself and wish my judgement had been better. So in light of this let's talk about something positive for a change.

So we got two movies behind us and one on the way, lots of things confirmed and some things up in the air. Based on that let's discuss the following:

1.Your favorite moment or memory of the first two films.

2.What surprises you're hoping are in store for Dark of the Moon (I know Bay's savy enough to not let them all slip so soon).

3. Out of what we know, what you're anticipating the most out of Dark of the Moon.

4. What you want to see in the future of the film series.

My answers:

1. Rather than mention an individual moment from either film, I'd rather bring up the audience. The audience really got into these films and it was a joy to see such participation. Cheers of "frak yeah" when Optimus did something awesome, laughing at the Twin's antics, tense silence followed by joyful cries during the final battles. Not since I first saw Star Wars back when the Special Edition hit theaters ('77 was before my time) had I witnessed an audience get into a set of movies so much. I'm hoping DotM continues this trend.

2. For this one I've already made a thread on the topic, but I'll repeat. I'm really hoping that Optimus dons his powerup armor from Jetfire (trailers and toys hint toward this) before rolling out to kick some tail. I'm also hoping the Twins show up again, at least to let them do something brave and heroic to develop their characters before they die.

3. This one's easy. Optimus Prime vs. Sentinel Prime. The classic "student must defeat the teacher" battle is one of my favorites.

4. For what's to come I'd like to see the film series take a shot at the content of G1 Season 3 and other more space oriented Transformers series. With Sam and Carly getting together Daniel can't be far away, and were there's Daniel there's Hotrod, Galvatron, Kup, and other classic characters. Also I'd like to see another director take a shot at the series, not because I dislike Bay's style (that should be obvious by now :P ) but because Transformers as a series thrives off how different creators interpret it.

What about everyone else? Let's try to keep this civil and avoid any negativity just for the sake of negativity. :D

Eh...good luck with that. However, I do like the idea, so I'll play.

Capt.Failure wrote:1.Your favorite moment or memory of the first two films.

TF1: Optimus transforming for the first time/Autobot introduction scene.
ROTF: Forest battle sequence.

Capt.Failure wrote:2.What surprises you're hoping are in store for Dark of the Moon (I know Bay's savy enough to not let them all slip so soon).

The rumored bits (the spoilers), I hope they have a lot of impact and aren't just eye candy or padding for time. I'd also like to see the twins be in the film because of this.

Capt.Failure wrote:3. Out of what we know, what you're anticipating the most out of Dark of the Moon.

The darkness. I want to see if the film really will be as bad ass as it's been hyped to be.

Capt.Failure wrote:4. What you want to see in the future of the film series.

I just want to see it continue. It's too soon for a reboot, and we don't need Shia to continue the story. I wouldn't mind them keeping Lennox and a new N.E.S.T. type team. Epps, seeing as we don't know where he stands (rumors and whatnot), isn't that important. I'd like to see them keep Duhamel, and Turturro.

3. Out of what we know, what you're anticipating the most out of Dark of the Moon.
Answers: More action, thriller, scary, comedy, and it should be deep.

4. What you want to see in the future of the film series.
Answes: I want the fight to continue. But i also want Megatron to die and Galvatron or Starscream to come in his place and handle the leadership.

1.Your favorite moment or memory of the first two films.

-honestly can't think of one other than Megan Fox bending completely in half.
-I suppose the backstory of the war, and the little trip to Cybertron in the 2nd one.
2.What surprises you're hoping are in store for Dark of the Moon (I know Bay's savy enough to not let them all slip so soon).

-some kind of character development from the Transformer characters
3. Out of what we know, what you're anticipating the most out of Dark of the Moon.

-that big bird/dragon looking thing looks quite cool
4. What you want to see in the future of the film series.

-a story about a civil war, in which the main characters just happen to be transforming robots.

negativity has its place, when its constructive criticism, if we dont voice our displeasure then we just get the same tripe presented to us

and on topic

1. I dont have two many instant memories, have to trawl (not troll ;) ) my memory for memorable moments and they are

- opening scene. 20 years waiting for TF movie finally happens. And it works, bad ass decepticon, remorseless killing machine, jsut what i imagined. Not a precursor for the slack jawed comedy and dialogue, orci and kurtzman spewed onto the screen, so my enjoyment was sustained for that ten minutes

- Megan fox bent over bumblebee

- Megan fox sprawled over the motorbike

2. susprises im hoping for is that he told the truth, that the movie has a good script, a lot of action, no dorky comedy and no twins

3. See answer 2

4. New director, scriptwriters and new production team. A reboot, as i am not a fan of the current characters, and to change them drastically, in the current continuity would be unfair to fans of the current movies.

1.Your favorite moment or memory of the first two films.

Megatron escapes from the freezer.

2.What surprises you're hoping are in store for Dark of the Moon (I know Bay's savy enough to not let them all slip so soon).

Unicron appearance in the last scene during the credits heading towards Earth or Cybertron, similar to the opening of Transformers: The Movie.

3. Out of what we know, what you're anticipating the most out of Dark of the Moon.

The Chicago battle.

4. What you want to see in the future of the film series.

Unicron and the Dinobots, there's a chance for both if Bay doesn't direct.

1. 2007: Optimus Enters the city
ROTF: Optimus enters Shanghai

2.Shockwave's arm cannon exploding in his face

3.The Chicago Battle (of course)

4.Megatron not being revived a second time

True, but what is tripe to you isn't tripe to far more people, keep that in mind. This is a Transformers fan forum which naturally means the local majority might have negative views even though the true majority enjoyed the films. After five threads about the series' flaws on the front page it's high time something positive was said. ;)

1. The forest fight, Optimus JUMPING OUT OF AN AIRPLANE, the Tomb of the Primes, the Well of Allsparks scene and bringing Optimus back to life; all from ROTF.
And just to be fare to the first movie: The part during the final battle where Blackout shoots Ironhide who is holding a truck, the wheel from the truck bounces on the ground, Blackout transforms and Sam runs right under him. That part was awesome.

2. I hope the Decepticons win. And lots of people die.

3. Explosions

4. Another movie would be enough to make me happy. That and Unicron. And CYBERTRON! Lots more Cybertron!

I hoping that Skids and Mudflap die.

3. Out of what we know, what you're anticipating the most out of Dark of the Moon.

Seeing the Decepticons destroying major cities.

4. What you want to see in the future of the film series.

I would love to see Cybertron restored (I'm not a big fan of the "Transformers across the galaxy but Cybertron is dead" idea). After that a brief rest, then have some new writers and a new director take over the franchise.

1.Your favorite moment or memory of the first two films.
I really liked blackout's rampage at the beginning of the first film
As far as RotF, it's between Sideswipe's first appearance and Optimus' "I'll take you all on!" line before the forest battle.

2.What surprises you're hoping are in store for Dark of the Moon (I know Bay's savy enough to not let them all slip so soon).
As long as there's Sideswipe, I'll always be holding out hope for Sunstreaker.

3. Out of what we know, what you're anticipating the most out of Dark of the Moon.

As much as I dislike the plot device surrounding it, seeing prime fight side by side will probably be pretty cool.

4. What you want to see in the future of the film series

I want more character developement. I don't need a reboot. I don't need a ton of new characters. I just want more robot dialogue and less Lebaeioueuof.

1.Your favorite moment or memory of the first two films.

First movie/ Mojo pissing on Ironhide and Ironhide's reaction!
Second movie/ Optimus Prime ripping out the tree and using it as a bat. I just loved how it showed his raw power!

2.What surprises you're hoping are in store for Dark of the Moon (I know Bay's savy enough to not let them all slip so soon).

I'm hoping that Ironhide really doesn't die in this movie

3. Out of what we know, what you're anticipating the most out of Dark of the Moon.

How it's going look on 3D. I kept on wondering how awesome the other two movies would have looked. I'm also looking forward to the Transformers visiting the Kennedy Space Center.

4. What you want to see in the future of the film series.
I'm unsure yet. All I know, is that Peter Cullen must continue to talk for Optimus Prime. It's the only thing I ask.

I'll be honest, I loved teh first one, despised with every cell in my body the second one, and am quietly optimistic about DOTM - or at least reserving judgement until I've seen it.

Fav memory from the first film: I have several, but I love the opening sequence with Blackout munting that airbase.

Surprises for the second one? I hope Bay doesn't screw up Shockwave.

From what we know of DOTM, that moustache bot doesn't end up being spare parts for Prime or some general schmuck of a character.

The future of TF? Better movies with more coherent plots where the director doesn't try to cram in every dot of Transformers mythos into 2 and a half hours. I'd perfer to see something that focuses on a few TFs as opposed to monstrously large battle scenes with no purpose other than explosions - which are cool btw, but I feel as TF fans we deserve more. I'd also like to see less soft prawn from girls who can't act but are only in the film to appease fan boys. I wanna see giant robots with a decent plot and character development killing each other, not a bunch of bimbos running around the desert where their white pants dont' get a dot of dirt or their extensions get a hair out of place.

Its demeaning.

1. For the first film, it was when Optimus first transformed in the alley. For ROTF it's when OP transformed in midair after driving out of a plane. Yeah, I find Optimus's transformations really cool to watch.

2. My hopes for a surprise in DOTM? That Bay actually delivers on toning down the dorky humor, and the Autobots finally fighting their own battle instead of the army coming to the rescue and defeating a legion of 'Cons with a few measly tanks and aircraft.

3. Wholesale slaughter of civilians by Decepticons, epic all-out battles between TF's.

4. More character development of the featured bots, and omission of dorky humor--Turturro can still do his thing because he's funny, but I don't want to see Sam's mom or Leo in a TF movie again. By now, the budget for such a bankable franchise should be through the roof, which means that they shouldn't have to skimp of bringing lots of CG TF's onscreen--all that's needed is a little more attention to the development of the robot characters themselves, and we'd have a perfect Transformers movie.

Hopefully, we'll already have that in DOTM.

I loved both movies, so picking a favorite moment is hard. Every time Megs and Ops fight does it for me, when trees are involved, all the better.
Also the goosebumps in the first Barricade scene in the first one. That's when it hit me.

1.Your favorite moment or memory of the first two films.

Tough one, Forest Fight's gotta be up there, and Prime vs Megatron in Movie 1, choppy as it was.

2.What surprises you're hoping are in store for Dark of the Moon (I know Bay's savy enough to not let them all slip so soon).

Not sure actually, I'm really not sure what to expect from DOTM. I just expect it to be good, it sounds like it will be.

3. Out of what we know, what you're anticipating the most out of Dark of the Moon.

ShockWave and Driller, those two are gonna be awesome. To a lesser extent, Megatron, he sure looks...destroyed though now. I find it odd he isn't in any of the previews.

4. What you want to see in the future of the film series.

A few more toys that are in scale, strikes me as odd they'd only make 2/3 Wreckers and have the two villains as Voyagers. I don't really read the comics, but spin off stories in general are good, to continue the story.
