Dark Of The Moon Soundtrack Review

Artist Direct has reviewed the soundtrack to Transformers: Dark Of The Moon. The soundtrack hits stores tomorrow 6-14-11. You can read their take on the individual songs before rushing out to purchase your own copy.

Traditionally, the soundtrack to a Transformers film proves just as explosive and entrancing as the movie itself.

The soundtrack for Transformers: Dark of the Moon proudly upholds that tradition—like any robust Autobot—but it's also the best in the series so far. Each and every song displays an evolutionary heaviness that would be right at home on Optimus Prime's personal playlist

Sounds great! I'm just hoping the music from the Trailer is also in the soundtrack.

Edit: Just realised this is the soundtrack and not the movie score. :BANG_HEAD:

Oh well. My guess is the'll both be released tomorrow.

Lame soundtrack is lame.
These reviewers wouldn't know heavy if... well, I can't complete this sentence without being demonically perverse.
Give me the orchestra. Keep the metalcore/nu-metal.
:CON:

First of all, the playlist screams radio rock to me. All they're missing is seether. Secondly, show me metal. Mastodon? Normally, yes. But not here. Give me some parkway drive or protest the hero if you want to say you're giving me something heavy. I'll stick to the score.

Never cared for the soundtracks of any TF movie. All I wanted are the musical scores.

Wondering this myself. The series always had a good score and I'm sure this one will deliver too.

A friendly reminder to those who want the Dark Of The Moon soundtrack, it is out today wherever you buy music.

For those of you waiting for the score, you will have to wait a little longer. The day before Dark Of The Moon comes out to be exact. The Amazon Product Page lists the score as having a release date of June 28. There is no track listing on the page yet.

QFT. The idiots who put these soundtracks together wouldn't know heavy even they were hit over the head with an anvil. Lincoln Park, Paramore, Staind!?!?!?! What an effin' joke.

I wish the score was coming out a few days earlier. I'll be on vacation when it comes out, and I won't be able to get it until after I get back. I would've wanted to listen to it while gone. Oh well...

I commend you on your choices but I can tell you right now that neither of them would fit with the tone of the new film. I've been listening to Manowar since before a lot of folks on this site were even born, I have pieces in my collection that you would give vital parts of your anatomy to get a hold of and I would be disappointed to see a Manowar song included in the soundtrack.
Everyone has their own ideas of what "heavy" and "Metal" and "Rock" are and to be perfectly honest 90% of them are full of sh**!
Music is purely subjective and I have little tolerance for folks shoving their opinion of what "good" music is down everyone elses' throats. That last bit was directed at everyone because it seems like EVERYBODY does it and sites devoted to fans of just about any one particular thing seem to be even worse than general communities.

The important thing with this soundtrack is not who is performing on it (although Linkin Park was actually a "must have" considering their prior contributions) it's about how well those who ARE performing are able to capture the general feeling of the film and its characters and be able to bring the listener into that world through song. You don't just simply listen to music, you feel it, you experience it and everyone does so in their own way but if the song is done right then individuals will all still be taken to the same place. Until you can understand that, don't waste your time barking your opinions at me about music because you obviously don't get it.

I can honestly say I agree with everything you just said, (except for the genres of rock and metal, sure they keep evolving, but tracks that have already been laid down definitely fit into a genre or sub-genre of metal or rock [well most, some bands are pretty crazy to fit into just one genre]), and thank you for the commendation.
I just wanted to share a little bit of what I thought would have been better choices for my own ideal TF movie... and thats as far as anyone should read in to it. I'm fully aware of how the soundtrack is picked and why, but since the reviewers were going off about heavy, as a metalhead, I couldn't not reply, know what i'm saying ;)

I'd be a lot more inclined to believe that if the websites of the major retailers had a listing for it. They don't.

Put my trial of Amazon Prime to good use to get this CD. Probably my favorite of all three albums.

And listening to Skillet's song on the soundtrack (Awake and Alive), anyone think that that song could fit Megatron, when he teams up with Optimus to fight Sentinel? If they actually use that song for the fight in the movie I will die from the awesomeness.
