Starscream not based off a Gorilla?

Ive been studying Starscream's movie design, and ive noticed something. From what I see, Starscream isnt based off a simean, but a bird, bird of prey as a matter of fact. Monkeys arent the only animals that can walk upright on hind legs. Birds also have hind legs. Starscream is a Seeker and his alternate form is a next generation fighter plane. So is a form of a bird a homage to his characteristics? Look at his head, his mouth sort of looks like a beak, and his head is round like a bird's. His legs are about proportionate to his body as is a bird's, he even has talons.

So maybe we should start calling him Birdscream?

I have to agree with a post I read a looong while back...the name of the jet is "Raptor", and I think he was molded with a little bit of Velociraptor in mind. That's what I like to think, anyway. They're mean, too. Starscream just needs one, giant curved toenail sticking up.

'Raptor' is also a term for a bird of prey. And offhand, I'd have to say Starscream's more a falcon than an eagle. Eagles do strength. Falcons are more agile.

Sounds logical to me. THey could have made him tiny bit skinnier im sure, with not as *wide* bird legs.. but none the less, i dont care!

I am use to Beast War bot modes so modes like this don't bother me at all, even those weird hands on some of them.. (Thank BLack Arachnia and the like for getting me use to *silly* hands)

Starscream looks weird! Yet he looks so cool!

I have question though, will have the "Nullray" weapon to his disposal?

There are no special weapons. They just have really really really big boom sticks.

Plus whatever weapons any normal fighter jet has.

Not necessarily. Those weapons could simply disguise advanced Cybertronian weapons.

So... upgraded equivalents of whatever weapons any normal fighter jet has?

I heard that Jazz has a Shield and a Sword! And Optimus has cannon on one arm and a blade on the other.

Yeah, check the sig.
Anyway, Screamer never struck me as an animal based one, he just looked alien. But, I can see your point.

If Starscream doesn't look like a squashed gorilla, then he looks like a squashed waterbug.

Yeah, he looks like a squashed SOMETHING... Or maybe he just looks like a jet that was taken apart and rearranged.

I saw it more as a gorilla with the head of a wasp.
I KINDA' see the bird junk you're saying though.

Oh, who cares? I still say he looks like ass.

If he doesn't try to backstab Megatron-thing at least ONCE in this movie, then someone better tell me why the wide, retarded thing is called Starscream.

I'm starting to think gorilla, so he can have the scene where he's swinging in the city (in order to cash in on Spiderman 3 web-slinging type effects while still fresh in the public's mind).

All of the movie transformers have some animal characteristics and the Decepticons in particular seem to have a lot of avian bits. Bonecrusher's face, for example, looks a lot like a horned owl's and his feet closely resemble talons (though he also looks like a mashup of porcupine and sloth characteristics). The Wreckage toy package art, though he isn't in the film, has him sporting a very psittacine-like beak and his feet are definitely avian. It could be just me, but for reasons I haven't figured-out Brawl kind of reminds me of a duck.

That being said, I don't think Starscream's primary inspiration is a bird, least of all a bird of prey. His legs and feet are very avian, but they're also very much like an ornithschian dinosaur's; they look more suited to running than they do catching from above. If they were based on a bird's my guess would be an ostrich. Above the waist I don't see any avian characteristics at all. In fact, the bulk makes him look antithetical to all the sleek, graceful aspects pertaining to both birds of prey and his alt mode. He barely looks capable of supporting his upper-body weight.

Because when he's not stabbing Megatron in the back he's screwing up Megatron's plans.

'nuff said.

Yes, he swings around like a damn monkey. Maybe he farts, scratches around for fleas to nibble at, and eats bananas, too?

Are we seeing a movie about Transformers - or Beast Wars?

Sherade, I think your sig explains why Bonecrusher hates things so much

Yeah. Once. Apparently that's enough for people to classify him as a monkey.

By that same narrow minded thinking Jazz could be considered a flea or some other fast moving annoying insect.
