A Great Dream About Movie Starscream.

I dreamed that the movie team completely changed Starscream to look exactly like he did in the G1 cartoons, with the same red and blue paint job and all, only with different-looking wings.:)

(Sigh.)

One could only dream, though.=/

And then you realized how out-of-place and cartoony he looked, not only compared to the other movie TF designs but also to all the other elements that makes a live action film realistic.
You really want a blocky low-polygone charactar in kindergarten colouring (like any jet would be blue white and red) and a blatantly easy looking transformation among all the 10.000 puzzle-piece TFs?
At least, I hope you did realize that afterwards...

The only Tf movie dream I've had so far, was when I dreamed that I was roommates with movie Jazz.

Ah, come on dude. At least have some respect for the G1 toys. After all, if it wasn't for them there would be no movie.

The only purpose G1 served was to spawn this movie. Otherwise, it was badly written and badly animated. The only redeeming quality of that show was the VOs.

This brings up a question G1 gave me. How the slag did Starscream not get spotted even in jet mode? Come on, how many people paint jets red and white? Camouflage that AIN'T!

And in 20 to 30 years, people will be saying that about the movie. Every generation thinks their version of something is the best.

Not true!

It also spawned Beast Wars, which is just oh-so awesome.
I do love me some G1, though, if nothing else than to laugh at Wheeljack's stupid inventions and Megatron's stupid yet badass attitude.

Don't forget watching Starscream be dumber than a sack of wet mice while somehow managing to still be pretty darn cool!

I once dreamed that all the radiators in the house transformed and left.

That's all I've got.

Are you kidding? G1 was genius!

And don't say I'm saying that cause I grew up with it, I'm only 17 lol

Or, you know, a hybrid with logical joints as well as the "cartoony" robot colors hidden while in vehicle mode.

But that would take someone actually putting effort into the design instead of just making a 100-freaking-percent new one from scratch.
Lazy, lazy, lazy...

Maybe it's just me, but creating a 100% new design from scratch seems like more effort than using G1 and making it a bit more complicated and detailed

And maybe it seemed like I was bashing G1 in my previous post. Well, that's not my intention. I like G1 for what it is, a great product of its time, meant to be associated with its time. In this new age, you can't expect the general audience to drool over G1 designs in a live action film. Yes, the fans would appreciate it, but you weren't fans yet back when G1 first aired. Now, the general audience is offered a film with the style and detail they expect from new big epic movies. It's a product of this time and will spawn new fans of this new style.

Your post here needs to be read by all the G1 Purists and movie haters. Ah, how they are stuck in stasis....

I love G1, always have, always will, but, I'm also looking forward to the movie, having read the book, so not all of us G1 fans are movie haters. And, just because a person is a G1 fan does not make them behind the times.

damn kids

I am a G1 purist in a sense, but I will go and see the movie. I will probably never get any of the toys, but I will want to see these creatures in action. I just want a Transformers experiance that will blow me away just like Jurrasic Park did when it came out in 1992.

Besides, even if it sucks, there is still good fanfiction to read which brings regular G1 (season 1-2) up to the year 2007.

There was one that I read that mentioned Thundercracker liked to play World of Warcraft on his computer. Kind of interesting, to say the least.

I'm am exceptionally confused.

1. How can a design be made from scratch WITHOUT being 100% new? I mean, 90% new wouldn't be from scratch, it would be heavily redesigned.

2. Have you ever designed something "100-freaking-percent" new in your life? I takes hella effort.

EDIT: To get on topic: I once dreamed I was Blackout. It was awesome.

I had a similare dream some time ago. I was on my way to the movie theaters and I was all happy and stuff because I knew they made this awesome movie with good looking transformers that looked a lot like the G1 versions only even more awesome.
Then I woke up again and realised again how much these movie designs suck.

Then I dare you to fall into love with Beast Machines, Armada, and Energon, TOO. Or else you are not a true TF fan. :P

Of course, I WILL see the movie, but G1 is ALWAYS classical Transformers that started it all. (Too bad our favorite characters all died away, only to be replaced by impersonators with the SAME names! )

That's MY opinion, thanks.

Isn't Beast Machines one of the LEAST popular TF series?

Make him more slim and tall with longer legs and a less bulky torso and he'd be perfect, in my imagination. Anybody agree?
