After seeing the movie, will you buy different toys?

I'm sure they'll be spoilers in this topic, as myself and others will probably talk about characters, and not strictly toys, so be warned.
I haven't bought any DOTM toys yet. I actually don't get that many movie toys usually, or toys in general these days.
Does a characters personality and screen time influence you what toys you'll get?
I was really looking forward to seeing the wreckers, cause from the pictures, their car modes are pretty awesome. Then in the movie they felt very underused. Now, my interest in their toys has gone down. I feel like a semi-brain washed child, but, that's the way it goes, right? Having a good representation of a character.
So, now that we can see the characters for what they are, based on that, has your toy purchasing plans changed?

Before seeing the movie, the only figure I considered buy-worthy was Shockwave, but seeing as he didn't do (or even hit) anything at all, I don't want it anymore.
Now, if there would be a Megatron with a shotgun, an Earth-mode Soundwave, or a Mirage-Dino in the shelves, I'd buy any of them instantly.

I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure that Shockwave is the only Decepticon in the entire series (besides Megatron) to have actually shot Prime, and visibly injured him (or at least knocked him outta the fight for a bit). He deserves some credit for that!

yea after seeing that movie i kinda wanted to give back my crankcase figure since hes basically a drone in the movie. BUT after DOTM,my opinion for megatron changed a whole lot espcially since he saved OP from sentinel prime But im still looking forward towards Mercedes Soundwave. Also I really hoped that shockwave would have actually said more then just "optimus"

Yeah he did. He shot Prime out of the sky and trashed his jetpack. I think only Megatron and Starscream have actually shot Prime before, so that's actually rare. But he didn't do much else. I still got the figure, but I don't regret it because Shockwave still looks so f**king good in the movie.

I was originally planning on buying Shockwave but he isn't out here yet. My gf got me Starscream for my birthday and him not having a voyager toy almost sealed the deal that he was gunna die in the movie. I was thinking about getting the leader Ironhide just because I don't currently own an Ironhide and after what happened to him in the movie I sorta want it more and it could be in honor of his death. About to watch the Ultimate Optimus Prime video reviews by Peaugh and Optibotimus and depending on how it looks I might pick it up too. I still need a Ratchet figure too but I'm not sure which movie toy is the better representation of him.
Update: Just watched both vids, not a fan of that figure. The trailer looks massive compared to the truck and the lack of articulation when in the power up mode is really kinda crappy. I wish for a version of Optimus when he gets an upgrade that his bonus parts would actually attach to him rather than just fold or float over him.

If only they could have had a building collapse on shockwave, so we'd have gotten what they didn't do in the 86 movie.

Well, he ordered the worm to dig through the building that was collapsing over his own head

Definately getting an IH in honour of his death... I've always been picky with movie figurines, but I'm really digging the detail on the leader class IH.

He knocked Jetwing Optimus out of the sky.

After hearing Laserbeak talk and seeing him turn into a pink Bumblebee to get that little girl to get him into her house (Pedocon.) and destroying that family...I'm definitely getting his toy now.

It changes how I feel about having already bought Sentinel Prime. I bought him because of his looks. Having completely avoided spoilers the best I could, I didn't realize he was going to be so damn evil. I mean I knew he was going to somehow betray the bots, but I thought he'd realize the errors of his actions and help bring it all to an end. Not so. Now I look at him and I no longer see the majesty of a Prime, but a damn cold blooded and ruthless wacko. And I don't really like how that feels to have spent money on him now. I tend to not collect baddies.

I have roadbuster, and was torn on topspin, but after the movie i'll probably get him and the rest of the wreckers, id like to see their alt modes with all the weaponry on though, something i think the roadbuster fig is lacking.
However i wont be displaying them in robot because i think the red wrecker ( i keep forgetting his name lol) is a horrible looking bot with his beer belly

Once again, ill probably be too damn poor to get any, but if i find the income, i'm going for OP with that badass trailer and Megatron in his rogue-ish look.

I have a new appreciation for the constructicons in ROTF now. As DOTM feels a bit lacking in the decepticon department. The Dreads are about it outside our leading 4. The Dreads are just too monstrous for me anyway.
Shockwave looks ok, but his transformation looks eh to me.
Starscream, well I have a starscream.
So, I really wonder what soundwave will look like.
Otherwise that really only leaves Megatron as a viable decepticon purchase.

Makes me very glad I didn't buy the twins as they were not in the film. But otherwise, the film didn't change my mind as to what to buy.

I've just read the comic adaptation, and funnily, the twins are in it - they are killed together with Ironhide by SP.

Yeah, I wish they would have included that scene.

I really wanted a Sideswipe because of the movie. There's an odd bit of irony, because the last movie line had some awesome Sideswipe figures, but I had no interest in them or just mild interest. But after seeing him in DOTM, I really want one. Too bad the current DOTM mold is kind of crap.

Just waiting on Q, Dino, Leadfoot, Soundwave and hopefully Brains & Driller; I have all the other DOTM cast displayed (mix of movie 1, ROTF, DOTM; various size classes)

I think Driller would be hard to do...... or at least with any accuracy and size to be to scale. Perhaps more to scale with cyberverse.

I'm sure soundwave is planned. Though he's suppose to be hidden, or a surprise. It would have been like packaging sentinel as a decepticon. I'm pretty sure hasbro hinted at soundwave being a HA figure. Which makes sense for his alt mode, and for the fact we have a villain human to give him with.
