Some G1 fans hated it. Movie fans hated it. Bayformer fans utterly loved it. But push all that to a side... Not looking for what you hated about the film. I think we've covered that in great depth and to an extreme extent already.

Were their parts, plot devices, or things about the movie that you liked? IF so, why?

Obviously, i liked the VFX, the art style, and the animation of the bots themselves. I also liked how the sounds for them fit them. I think out of all three movies, these things are going to be what i cherish and remember about them.

- probably the best effects I've ever seen, (except for JFK at the beginning - what were they thinking???)

- much easier to follow the action during fight scenes

- better script than ROTF (although I found the novelization to be much better than the actual movie)

- better cast (never hurts to have people such as Malkovich and McDormand in your movie)

- no twins or especially Leo (possible the worst character in any movie ever made)

- no boring parts at all

The explosions, the intensity of the scenes, they killed off a bunch of main characters, and how dark it felt when the invasion happened, the score, I actually liked Sam's job scene the second time I saw DOTM, the highway scene, the assassination scene, Sideswipe, Lazerbeak, Sentinel's betrayal, Optimus's brutality, and Megatron's sympathy.

Mostly. Except for that intro scene with Sam and Carly and Sam's parents.

I also loved the intro scene! One of the best intros EVER!

serious tone to some parts of movie

-Soundwave was featured more prominently.
-Classic characters like Laserbeak and Shockwave appeared.
-Barricade returned
-Fight scenes were a bit easier to follow than in the previous two films (though, to be honest, I didn't really have a problem with the action scenes in the other movies)
-The music was great
-The special effects were incredible
-Leonard Nimoy returned to voice Sentinel Prime
-The story made sense within the movie, though not very well within the context of the other two movies, which is more than I can say for ROTF.

where was this, i missed it

He can be seen as part of the Decepticon crew which is executing the Autobots. He dies soon thereafter though.

I wouldn't really call that sympathy. Everything Megatron does is to further his own agenda. Given his injured state I highly doubt he's going to waste energon killing elephants. And killing off one of the main human good guys was never going to happen.

He also didn't really save Optimus' life - he was just taking advantage of the situation and looking out for his own interests. Again, if he wasn't in such a wretched state he would have gladly killed both of them. Anyone who truly thinks he had any interest whatsoever in a truce is delusional.

I really liked the robot designs this time around. ROTF had a lot of weird ones, which I liked but seeing some regular bots was cool.

ShockWave's one line sounded kinda awesome.
Also the Driller, and very much so.
Megatron feeding the babies was interesting, I'm not able to see him as pure savage any more.

Also, the Dreads, so much. They were just so awesome, they can run faster than cars and CrowBar had dreads so extreme they were bigger than him. CrankCase had the whole Predator psycho theme going on which looked awesome.

I spotted him pushing a ProtoForm around in front of ShockWave and he's supposed to be near a ProtoForm getting its leg blown off too though I didn't really catch it in the theater.

Also Igor, though I never got a clear glimpse of him.

He also was in the scene when the Cons took hostages. I believe he was restraining Bumblebee while Soundwave went through with the executions.

-I really liked how this movie felt more like what I was expecting ROTF to be. ROTF felt more like a National Treasure movie to me with Cybertronians thrown in. The whole invasion part of DOTM is what I was really expecting the desert battle to be. The first movie is more like a hide and seek game with everyone trying to keep these giant robots hidden, when the second movie has the Fallen out their existence to the whole world you'd expect a giant battle to follow. Sadly the desert fight in ROTF was a bit of a mishmash, but the Chicago invasion in DOTM was exactly what I was looking for.
-I also enjoyed how they implemented irridescent.
-Was cool to see Barricade again. I also enjoyed seeing more of Sideswipe and Soundwave getting a bigger role then "HEY IM IN SSSPPPPPAAAAACCCCEEE!!!"
-Shockwave was awesome looking.
-I liked seeing Megatron's base on Earth, though I'd like to know what happened to the Nemesis.
-I loved that in nearly all of the battle scenes they focused on the battle and not on Sam trying to get away from the battle. Great to see some Bot on Bot fights clearly this time.
-Mirage/Dino was really awesome, as were the Wreckers. I also enjoyed the Dreads.
-I loved the overall more sinister feel to the decepticons. In the first two movies I never felt very threatened by them. ROTF was on the right track with Scalpel wanting to take out Sam's brain or the Fallen wanting to detonate our sun. Seeing them kill random civilians, force humans to work for them and execute Autobots makes them seem way more evil.
-As ruthless as he is, this version of Optimus Prime is badass and I love him for that.
-I enjoyed Rosie Huntington-Whiteley as Carly. Not just because she is attractive either.

I really wouldn't say that overall people hated it, just that one part in paticulare people didn't like and has had alot of controversey.

For me..

-Optimus trailer- Loved seeing it transform into his weapons depot and Prime jumping in the center and grabbing what he needed.

-Sentinel prime- Epic character! Loved how they had not only an Autobot betray them, but a Prime. Speaking of Sentinel Prime..

-Lenord Nimoy voicing S. Prime- Oh man... His voice was beyond Epic. Hereing him opisite of Perter Cullen.. Wow! I truly don't believe anyone else could have voiced Sentinel any better. Absoluelty perfect!

-Wreckers- These guys were bad ass. I loved their voices as well. They just seemed fitting. Loved the alt modes as well. Never thought in a million years i'd like any nascar Autobot, but i've been made a believer!

-Wheelie and Brains- These little guys were awesome. Just enough comis relief, and great little one liners...
"We gonna mess this ship up!"
"Awe sh...ockwave's com'in!"
"Autobot victory! Autbobot Victory!"

-Battle scenes were awesome! From the intoduction to Shockwave, to the freeway chase, to the end battle. All great.

Overall story and plot- Loved how the humans were working with the decepticons, and and autobot betrayal. Great plot devices used very well.

-vehicle modes- This is the one movie were i absolutely loved all the alt modes of both the Autobots and the Decepticons. In time, i'd like to get all of the movie toys.

-The overall tone of the movie- darker, more serious, and kept you on the edge of your seat. for a second i actually thought Soundwave was going to off Bumble Bee.

Soundwave and Laserbeak, humans working for the decpticons, the action scenes, Sentinel Prime, Starscream, Megatron, Wheelie and his sidekick.

- Carly
- The action sequences
- The fact that I was actually surprised by Sentinel Prime
- Soundwave and Laserbeak
- Prime being brutal. Hey, I feel sometimes you gotta be.
- The Wreckers
- Mr. Malcovich
- The story
_ Oh, and did I mention Carly?

Parts of the movie were good while others kinda sux.

I have to say i am really disappointed how they made Megatron a depressed P*ssy!! that becomes Sentential's Bitch. There was not really much story around Megatron, I dislike how starscream was a badass in the 1st two movies then killed off stupidly in this one. I think we all would of loved to see Starscream get killed by Megatron. Shockwave was BADASS but not used enough and was killed off by Humans? Soundwave and Barraicade were both taken out the same time once again they died stupidly.


HOW THIS MOVIE SHOULD OF ENDED:

Starscream betrays Megatron and kills him (so we think)He takes over the Decepticons as he battles Prime and is about to kill him when Megatron is standing in back of him and blows him up with his fusion cannon. as Starscream is dying Megatron steps on his head crushing it telling him something like "you well never lead" as he then battles Optimum they both beat the crap out of each other till they both die, The humans get the remains of Megatron and ship it into outer space were we see a light beam shinning at him and we hear a voice "Welcome Megatron" (Unicron) Movie ends.

Minus the human involvement, Been done already.

k then we see Skywarp and Thundercracker come for Megatrons body when they hit an asteroid field knocking them out screen goes black then we see megatron floating in space then Unicrons tells him Welcome megatron movie ends

The scene in africa with megatron, starscream, soundwave and laserbeak was nice, as it was such obvious fan service, which is something we got little of decepticon wise in these 3 movies.
