I loved his intro into the movie too! and agree with you on the fact that I am very unhappy on the whole "you'll shoot your eye out" thing like really, these are alien robots that can transform yet a couple rounds to the eye and your done just kind of ruined it for me :(

Dude I spent 10 mins watching your sig and forgot what the thread was even about.

I just realized, there's actual footage of ShockWave FIGHTING in that Burger King commercial.
WHAT? He does more in a commercial than the movie? o_O...?
I think just elongating one or two scenes could've changed my whole perspective on the movie, I still liked it, but I prefer ROTF's drawn out awesome fight scenes to DOTM's 30 second wonders.

Honestly, I think the only Decepticons who got remotely cool deaths were the Dreads. Crankcase was the ONE Decepticon to not die instantly from a head wound, he had to get kicked and explodified first...

Hell yeah I was. He needed to at least take down some big name autobots before biting it. Just because he sucked in the movie, I play him online in the DOTM game for a bit of redemption.

I like how they portrayed Shockwave. Sure he was nothing like the G1 version, but it was wicked nonetheless.

I hated how Soundwave was portrayed! I especially disliked the voice they used for him. But really, I just don't think he looked anything like Soundwave.

That was Frank Welker doing Soundwave's voice, the orginal voice. That was the only acceptable quality of his character in these movies.

That is cool that it was the original voice-actor, but they never processed his voice so it sounded nothing like the cartoon anyway. Why the hell did they not process his voice? That alone would have made me forgive the extreme makeover of his character.

I have to agree, Shockwave was dissapointing. One word of dialog, parachute to the face gives him a mini-freak out, gets his eye shot out, and gets killed by Optimus while he's incapacitated. I didn't understand the point of the driller either. Why was it there and for what purpose?

Still at least he was in there along with Soundwave and LB.

Was I disappointed? Let's put it this way...

Shockwave jumps out at Chernobyl, all set to fight Optimus.
Me: Oh boy, this is going to be gr-- where'd he go?

*over an hour later*

Me: OK, we're in Chicago, gotta be near the end. Where the heck is Shocky?
Shockwave finally reappears, pops up here and there, does little, says nothing, killed without a fight.
Me: Well, that was a waste.

I understand needing a red herring, but damn.

I liked Soundwave. He actually did something.

Shockwave was a waste of screen time.

I heard it took about 32 weeks or something like that for ILM to create Shockwave. Well, 32 weeks for a little less than 3 minutes of film! ALL TRANSFORMERS WERE BACKGROUND CHARACTERS!!!! Maybe it's sort of like G1, but with G1, it's mostly Transformers all equally shown, NOT most of the time HUMANS! Thats the main problem with this film. I have heard spoilers, even of one suggesting Sentinel as evil, BUT MAKING HUMANS MAIN CHARACTERS, KILLING STARSCREAM STUPIDLY OFF, SHOCKWAVE IN MOVIE FOR ABOUT 3-5 MINUTES, SENTINEL AS MAIN VILLIAN, AND TRANSFORMERS STARRING 1/3 OF THE FILM :BOOM: I have NOT heard of. Just stick with the first film, it's the best. Fans should create their own orriginal versions of sequels to it on youtube. Their were so many things they could have done, but didn't. In other words... yea, I was disapointed with Shockwave. Cool design, but poor in the plot. Kremzeek :KREMZEEK: could have written better sequels! Wait, HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THEM! Case closed.

I remember reading the novel a month before the movie came out and when I got to the chernobyl scene I was stoked! But even in the novel he says maybe one more line to Optimus and fires at him with his cannon before disappearing. I suddenly had a bad feeling about his whole character. I love the design but man did they waste it. I mean they could have at least had him interacting with the other Decepticons in Africa, Washington, or maybe even have him lead the charge during the whole chase freeway chase sequence. Maybe have him cornered then Sentinel turns on them and ends up rescuing Shockwave in the process. It's SOOO frustrating because who knows if we'll ever see Shockwave on the big screen again. I also thought him and Optimus would have it out at the end but instead he fights Sentinel Prime for a good 5-10 mins. Shockwave deserved better in my opinion.

There was a fight sequence between him and Optimus in a burger commercial. So either that sequence was removed from the film(like Twins) or it was made only for commercial like some others.

For Spark sake, did they really cut out Shockers ONLY fight scene and use it for a COMMERCIAL?!?!

^Quoted for truth.

I was really looking forward to see Shockwave as he happens to be one of my favorite Decepticons, and this was all we got? Such a waste of a good and interesting character.

The only extended fight Shockwave got was in the DOTM game. He's a total beeyatch to take down. That plus his space slug/driller. That made him so poweful in the game and then in the movie he just stands around looking menacing until he gets his eye poked out :( Lame.
