Why take megs?

I notice a lot of pics of Megatrons truck mode from photos around the city. Wonder why they drove it around all over the place since it was only used in like 5 seconds of film? Wonder if any of the deleted scenes will have any of him in it?
Just seems like a waste of money and effort is all?

Maybe they are just moving the vehicle around,besides Megatron had get to Chicago somehow,isnt?

I saw Megatron when they where filming in DC, and his vehicle mode wasn't even in any DC scenes.

Things get changed in movies this big constantly. If at that time they wanted that scene, you film it and have it. Rather than go back and wish you had it. While expensive, it's better to have it to cut it, than to not and need to shoot it.

Maybe they did it to trick people into not thinking Sentinel was the main villian

Oh yeah? Well how about Optimus and Megatron having the "King of the Road duel" in their truck-modes?
Imagine Optimus and Megatron speeding towards each other and just then, before the collision they transform and BAM!
Wouldn't that be

But you're right, yeah... So much wasted potential...
