... get the good ****?"

Despite the gripes and complaints that arose from the DOTM movie, there were some really good moments and lines too, and I don't want to forget that. This line is something that I'm sure echoes the thought that has crossed the mind of many a fan. Of course I know now it's because in the original conception it was decided that the bad guys line would consist of military vehicles, which all look damn cool. But even as a little kid I couldn't imagine why on earth the Autobots couldn't figure out how to fly (except that one G1 episode where they did!)

I'm sure their alt mode has nothing to do with it, since G1 Megatron, Soundwave, Reflector etc all could fly. Wonder if it was ever explained anywhere, including the comics?

Personally, it's my favourite line because it encompasses a lot: humour in and of itself, and an inside nod to a question that's plagued me for years :APPLAUSE:

I think it was explained by the writers of the G1 cartoon that the reason the Cons were able to fly and the Bots couldn't was because the Bots had the advantage over the Cons in numbers. So in order to balance out both factions, the writers decided to make the Bots not able to fly (save for the ones with jetpacks or ones with aerial alt modes). Unfortunately, this decision was made after More Than Meets The Eye, hence the inconsitency with the remaining episodes.

Yes they always get the good ****, but they always end up losing. That's the real question I want answered. Can we please have one continuity where when bad guys win? Would that be so hard? Apparently so.

In the UK comics, there's an alternate future where Galvatron conquers the U.S. and a ton of Autobots are dead.

I thought they were pretty even in Armada, Optimus had Jetfire AND Soundwave, while Megs had Tidal Wave. For every new bot, there was a new con, or vice versa. And the mini cons didn't belong to either side, it kept changing.

Same with Cybertron, heck, Autobots = Primus, Savage claw mode, Sonic Wing mode, super mode, vector prime, Metroplex's skyscraper-sized saw...

Cons = Megatron being ridiculous, Starscream (even tho he was his own faction), nemesis breaker(for one episode)....

It's said in Transformers: The Movie that the Cons won The Great War that took place during seasons one and two.

Decepticons focus on making new and ever-more violent ways of killing their enemies. They've always been on the cutting edge of forbidden weaponry and Autobots, being peacekeepers and not warmongers, do not delve into the depravity of weaponization. Cybertronian diseases are even, for the most part, product of Decepticon biological warfare.
