As much as I am excited to see this movie come to DVD, I swear I see at least one commercial at every commercial break on any given channel. Has anyone else experience? The first day I was kind of excited to see that it was getting advertise this much. At this point though, it's a little eccentric.

Had the TV on yesterday evening and night for about 8 hours, different channels, and I've got it on right now. I've yet to see a single ad for DOTM releases. (I did, however, see one letting me know that the the third season of The Mentalist was now available--thank you, CTV!)
I suspect they're only running all that 'excessive' advertising on certail select channels, probably those catering to the movie's target audience...am I right?

Possibly. Though, I do watch your standard non-cable and basic cable channels. Maybe it's only in this market, which is odd that they are advertising it this much. But who knows? I just don't remember seeing a DVD/Blu ray advertise this much before.

It does sound excessive. I can't comment on this much as I left cable TV behind last December.

LadyBug: It just occurred to me...maybe they're not running much advertising on channels we typically get up in Canada because any DVD/BlueRay covers shown are in English only...? That's presuming they are showing covers, that is. If they are, then that'd be enough to get the ads yanked here because all the packaging on stuff sold in Canada is supposed to be bilingual...
