So, final verdict, who actually has lines?

According to IMDB, only Prime, Megatron, and Barricade have a voice actor.

This is something I thought might happen. As cool as this movie may be, they really did take a **** on us.

Does anybody know different? Have I missed something? I did not read the leaked script. Did everyone have at least one line in it?

Has anybody out there reading this actually seen it early in some situation?

Prepare yourselves people. It's not just human-centric. The TF's might not even speak.

At least there's still Die Hard, Bourne, and Harry Potter if you're into him...

they speak "cybertronian" with each other (the decepticons I mean), which tbh makes sense :-?

And that is pointless and stupid.

No lines means the characters that made this whole noisy debacle possible aren't even aknowledged aside from their looks and stylish vehicle advertising.

All Autobots have lines (and I do mean all)
Barricade, Megatron and Starscream have lines. I can't recall if Blackout or Bonecrusher have any and Brawl/Devestator has none.

And yes, the Decepticons do communicate a lot in Cybertronian, and sorry to burst your little fanboy bubbles but it does make sense.

They're evil robotic aliens, why should they communicate with each other in a language that's not their own?

Lightning is actually pretty rare around here.

Just rain ... lots and lots of rain, and occassionally 300km/hr winds.

you might not like it, but that doesnt make it pointless. youre talking like they dont speak at all in the movie, when they do, just not in english, and why would they, like burn said, they are alien beings

What about Frenzy, or does he just run around sounding like R2D2?

Because its a movie about giant robot alien, why WOULDNT they talk in a language other than their own. God forbid the writers make an attempt at making the characters likable enough that the audience cares what happens to them, regardless of what side they are on, instead of making them cardboard bad guys.

Okay, imagine you hate France. You see France and the French like they're beneath you. Would you then go out of your way to learn to SPEAK French?

This makes sense as Barricade speaks english, presumebly solely for the purpose of "interrogating" Sam. He has to speak the language of his prisoner. This also adds more sense into why Bonecrusher "Hates everything" and Brawl just the "destroying" type.

Yup, if I hated everything I definitely wouldn't learn a worm's language (no offense, I'm billingual lol). And hey, all aliens have a way of talking to one another in one way or another, so why shouldn't the TF's?

I agree it makes perfect sense to add a Cybertronian language. Ah, another language to learn....

This you could file uder the catagory of "artistic licence", but sorry, I file it under "bad writing". Even though its basically just a movie about giant transforming alien robots, they (writers) dont have to insult my intelligence by turning the villians in to mute characters who only make "scary nosies" so that we know they are evil. I mean its bad enough that they designed them to look like scary insect robots, ok I get it they are supposed to be evil, but at least give them the ability to talk beyond that of noises or a few sentences. Hell it would be slightly better if they could at least throw in some subtitiles when they are speaking their "sisnister robot language".

umm..im pretty sure they would put in subtitles for when they talk in cybertronian.

barricade has a line when he is chasing sam,
i believe blackout says something at the beginning but can't remember. but thats it for him if he said something

brawl,bonecrushr = no lines

since some of the decepticons arn't in it until basicaly the end of it, there is really no need for lines other then the cybertron ones that they spoke here and there.

and yes, when they talk cybertron, it is subtitled ..

Yeah, why should we, puny human, understand what they say...that way they can say whatever they want and we won't understand!

They do.

And I don't believe its made to sound at all "scary", its just a language. But the reason it might sound scary could be the same reason French sounds "sexy" to some people. I will say though, clearly the voices are made to SOUND scary when they speak in english. We've heard that from Starscream's voice clips. But this could be put down to the same reason we raise our voices or whatever. Just a matter of asserting dominence.

As for "Artistic License", take it from me, this film is not about Art. Bay has said that the most important thing is Realism. This is set in reality, in the same world we live in (albeit one where TFs never existed on TV). There's no room to put aside reality for a second and 'pretend' they speak english so we can understand.
Now if it were designed as a piece of art with interpretations and whatever, then yes, they might speak english as the characters will acknowledge that the audience to whom they are performing will need to understand. But that's not the case. The characters acknowledge their reality (one that is not a film) and so act accordingly: They acknowledge they are robots in a war with a target.

Bay is no artist. He's very literal and straight-forward, and his direction (Realism) indicates even if he WAS artistic, he's chosen to disregard it for the sake of said direction.

I hope all that made sense, i got lost myself whilst typing it :? Its all a matter of logic.

It's a film about realism, not art.
It is about realism because that's what Bay's aiming for.
No diversions from reality can be made to ensure the illusion of reality is maintained.

They do talk. They talk Cybertronian between each other (with subtitles) and english (or whatever language in whatever country you're in) when communicating with humans.

It's another level of realism. I think it's great writing actually otherwise people would sit there going "if they're from another planet, why are they talking our language when talking to each other?"

And don't answer that with some "well Klingons sometimes talk english when talking to each other in Star Trek" because this isn't Star Trek!
