for anyone who has seen the SpielBay videos on youtube, who here thinks that the REAL Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg should sue the pants off these guys for illegal impersonation? because I SURE AS HECK do! these guys make a mockery of the movie, the TV shows, the toyline, and anything that has to do with Transformers. they even have the audacity to tell people to buy a ticket for any other movie BESIDES Transformers, then sneak into Transformers. I absolutely HATE these people and I want to know other people's opinions

for those who haven't seen the videos, here is their channel:http://www.youtube.com/user/Spielbay

I dunno, they're sufficiently childish to not warrant consideration. I'll go watch some G1 goodness rather than get in too much of a snit - you should too.

I am sorry man, but they are funny as hell. I think they are wrong about the film though. It will dominate everything this summer.

But damn, they are funny!

"...I will remove that toy from the child...PERMENANTLY!"

Your sig is wayyyy too large. 40kb max please. That and a lot of people are trying to not see much of the movie so you might want to pick something else to use.

Let me get this straight... you absolutely HATE... HATE someone... because they think your favorite childhood toy, and everything based on it, is a joke? You're a disgrace to nerds everywhere man. Grow some stones and stop caring what other people think of the things you enjoy. You'll find life a lot more enjoyable as a result.

Seeing as how the creator of this topic, Burnup Prime, only started their account a few days ago, and that I've never seen these videos before, that this is likely "viral marketing" for Spielbay.

Thanks for the link, watching now.

EDIT: OH MY GOD. The second one makes so many good points.
Comedy-freaking-gold.

EDIT: Jesus christ... you all need to watch the third one... specifically when the runtime hits 2:55

I love these bastards.

I don't think you get my point. let me explain things.

1) these guys claim to be Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg, and don't speak the fact that they are NOT the aforementioned people

2) this is considered impersonation, which is illegal

3) I'm asking if you think they should be sued for illegal impersonation, but they won't have to be if they tell people that they are only PRETENDING to be the the people who they claim they are

4) I grew up in the 90's so I never saw a single episode of G1, but these guys obviously have, and they are way too convinced that anything bearing the name "Transformers" that came after it would be terrible for EVERYBODY

5) I have "stones", and i'm not a nerd, just an opinionated fan

and to Riotflea: I truly dislike these guys heavily, so I am not advertising for them, I am saying that I want these guys to either state that they are only pretending to be Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg, are get sued for illegal impersonation

...It's called a parody. No one in their right mind would think these two are the real people they are impersonating. You're off your rocker man.

They're making a joke and you just don't or refuse to get it.

There is absolutely NO law against satire. If there was, Saturday Night Live, MadTV, and the guys who did Scary Movie, Epic Movie, and Date Movie would all be out of a job.

I just don't like them, that's how it is. and I think it's impersonation because these guys seem very convinced that they are the guys they say they are. besides, this was simply a first attempt at making a thread. and, to my satisfaction, it has started to grow. I just wish that more people thought the way I did about these things.

Ugh. They're acting man. They don't believe they are the real Bay and Speilberg. That's like saying I believe I'm Obi-Wan Kenobi because I quote him a lot.

yes, but in those types of things, they at some point, usually the opening and/or ending credits, give the REAL names of the actors and actresses used in the satire, which is not present in the spielbay videos, and I think that is why it is impersonation, albeit POOR impersonation, but impersonation nonetheless

okay, I put that wrongly, my mistake. what I meant was that they say who they are acting like, but not that they ARE acting

But all the names you've mentioned were produced by big name companies, so they probably got legal permission to use the names of celebrities, films etc.

Where as those two muppets on YouTube are just a couple amateur and very rubbish comedians, they probably have no right to use Bay, Speilberg or anyone of their copyright brand names and franchises.

If they wanted to do a parody, they should've changed the names slightly, probably in a comedic way. But they didn't so therefore they should be sued.

....and drowned.

While I too believe it was a bit over the edge, it was a joke

...right?

And yeah, using an exact name of someone else is identity theft, right? Time to sue

No, it isn't. Identity Theft is when you steal someone's personal information (I.e. Credit card info, SS#, etc.) to do illegal activities.

This isn't Identity theft.

now this is going in the right direction. finally. although identity theft is different from impersonation, it wouldn't sound too far off
