Pinewood derby movie models
Posted: Mon Jun 25, 2007 12:22 pmI posted on here a few weeks ago that my son and I were going to build a Barricade pinewood derby car. Well the event was Saturday and while we only managed to take second place in the race, our car won the judges best of show award.
We were able to take the screws out of the lightbar on Barricade and then taped it to the top of his car. We also drilled a hole in the top of the car where we placed a flashing blue and red LED light that made it look as if he was going code. EVERYONE loved it and it got all the kids excited for the movie. Just for fun we made a Ford GT for his younger brother and after he saw that it was Barricade he had to have his car painted like Bumblebee.
We had a BLAST and next year were going to try and do more of the characters.
