I think it is, seeing that he crashed on Earth thousands of years ago and didn't have time to reformat his body (not that there would've been any technology to scan back then anyway).

Therefore, we may get to see a more G1esque looking Megatron in Transformers 2.

Any thoughts?

ok, wuts the difference between their protoform and their cybertronian?

I'm guessing that their protoforms are their cybertronian modes.

think if their protoform as a blank shell. a fresh start to make a new shell so they can fit in with what ever new planet they go on if going there for a long time.

Isn't the protoform used for traveling through space?

Either Megatron doesn't have time to reformat himself, or he just says "Well, f##k that" and goes off to kick butt as is.

ok..lets think about this.
megatron has the same form in the movie and when he is on cybertron. if he came to earth in a different form (protoform) then that means he would look different since he froze.

Megatron has been using the same form he's always been using since his quest for the Allspark. From what I've read in the comics, novel's, etc.

Protoform Prime is different from Cybertronian Prime. It doesn't make sense that on Cybs they'd turn into their interplanetary travel form, does it? They're depicted in their Protoform forms in the comics because, well, its easier than designing new forms, and people wouldn't really ask about it.

So no, Megatron is in his Cybertronian form as opposed to a protoform form. He doesn't even need a protoform because his Cybertronian alt mode is capable of interplanetary travel.

I think in the sequel he will look considerably different. If he wants to remain on Earth without being rediscovered he'll have to take a new form.

Why would he care if he is discovered or about a new forn. He is above them all so why adapt to the lowlies?

now that makes sense! i dont see why starscream cant though..hes always a jet of some sort.

I thought protoforms was the prototypes of the transformers

I think it's the term for the form they're in before they reformat to blend in.

The movie confused Protoform and Cybertronian Form. They call it protoform, but what see in the movie are actually Cybertronian form

Protoform= Half-Formed and embryonic
Cybertronian= "True" form, the form they had on Cybertron
Earth Form= Scanned something from Earth

That is the Autobots you are talking about, Megatron doesn't care if he is seen or not, he wants to destroy!

i think the Protoform is for traveling in space and there transportation to crash into another planet. haha see a flying comet around the park . well the Cybertronian mode is where they adapt to there alternate modes and change there appearance to blend in including there alterante mode and there physical robot appearance. hope that helps a bit
