'Mass Shifting', but he didn't object to having the Allspark fold in on itself until it was the size of a football?

Still, at least mass shifting has been acknowledged in the movie continuity.

Whether this applies only to the Allspark is yet to be seen.

From which incarnation? The movie or Beast Machines?

There is plenty of mass-shifting in the bots and cons of the movie too. The robot forms are much larger than the vehicle modes. You couldn't make a robot that big from a car of that size unless every piece was hollow and paper-thin.

IIRC, the allspark is supposed to be the movie's equivalent of The Matrix of Leadership , that's what I'm assuming anyway

hmmm i thought the all spark was supposed to be equivalent to the energon cube not the matrix of leadership. the matrix of leadership was supposed to be a crystal containing wisdom from the past leaders, not a source of life or energy, like the all spark is supposed to be.

The Allspark in the movie is a source of energy that can give life to none living technology and thus create more Transformers.

This is similar to Beast Machines except in that series the Allspark is contained within the matrix.

Check out Wikipedia for a more in depth explanation.

The Allspark used to be called the Energon Cube. The Energon Cube was based off of the Matrix, but they didn't want to call it that because of...well...y'know...those movies and such.
