Wow, at first I thought it was going to be negative, but it really turned into a pretty cool interview.

I think I like Mikey a little more now.

It's actually the age.com.au, not theage.com.

that article seemed....negative....like he would mention something bay said then insult him after. i seriously dont get the hate. if you hate his movies fine, hate them but why turn into a big baby and call him names?

i could make a huge list of directos who's movies i think all suck and you know, many if not most are considered great directors by many but i wont because it doesnt matter...i never have and never will see a movie because of who made it, i dont even see movies for who stars in it. i see movies because i see the trailers/tv spots and it looks good.

i just dont get this hate....and the funniest part is that all the people calling him a hack or whatever keep posting and writing about him. call me crazy but when i dislike something, i avoid it and that includes discussing it.

anyway....i'll stop babbling now cuz i'm bored. lol

I wonder if this article, and the film review by the same guy, is the bloke that stopped Mulla and I when we were leaving the preview screening and asked us a few questions.

Mulla? Mulla? Mulla?

An artist?! [cough-cough] I'm pretty sure I just witnessed one of the signs of the apocalypse: Michael Bay telling us he's an 'artist'. No, this guy isn't full of himself.

[Michael trips on the red carpet, falling flat on his fade...the audience laughs]

The movie is great. Not perfect, but still great. Michael Bay did right by this movie. I'm not saying I approve of all the changes he made to the TF universe, or that he was the only person who could have done this movie, but he did do a good job with the final product.

I saw the Botcon charity screening as well as the people coming out of an earlier preview. The general consensus on their way out was a big two thumbs up with a few "hell yeahs" from some.

I'm curious as to what YOUR definition of "art" is.

Bay in the article wrote:"Art is something that you create from nothing. I use a lot of very talented people, but it is art if you can get people to applaud or laugh in that theatre, so you're creating some sort of emotional response. Then you realise, hey, they're applauding for a truck! Do you know what I'm saying?"

Because I agree with him, especially the part I put in bold.

Okay, so Transformers wasn't exactly "nothing", but he still took an idea put forth to him and turned it into a movie. Frankly, that's art, it makes him an artist.

I don't know art but I know what I hate and I don't hate Bay. He's full of himself though, you can tell that. Almost borderline asshole. I'll hold my judgement till I see the movie.

What happened to the other thread about the letter that bay wrote?
