Jazz... Smaller Than You Think (Spoilers)

I was wondering...
In the movie, how Jazz gets ripped up by Megatron... he looks like a tiny little robot compared to him. And Bumblebee looked a lot bigger that Jazz at the ending. Because Ironhide or Ratchet came up to Optimus and said "Sorry Sir we couldn't save him," and is holding Jazz in one hand. Then they show Bumblebee and he looks a lot bigger... why is this?

Steroids. Maybe it was just your imagination, or the Allspark. Who knows? I think it is kind of bs that the Autobots couldn't save Jazz...seriously...Ratchet's a medic...they should have just taped him up. That's the only part of this movie I'm not looking forward to seeing. But oh well.

I wondered that.
But then I figured, well, Bumblebee could talk properly in the cartoons and actually had a mouth, so why quibble over the change in size...
However, as much as I like Jazz, it was pretty spiffy when Megs tore him. I thought his post-mortum remarks were very witty.

Jazz is the smallest of the Autobots.
The Pontiac Solstice is smaller than the Chevy Camaro. (Both versions.)
So it's easy to imagine he'd be dwarfed by Megatron and his fellow Autobots.

Megatron is really huge amongst the movie Transformers, he towers above Optimus as well.
Jazz is not that smaller compared to the autobots, the other ones are at least about a head bigger then him, but he is the smallest one, yeah.

So Bumblebee isn't the smallest one like all the other site say he is. But yer maybe Megatron was the biggest... he looked bigger than Blackout too.
And Sentinel Pax... just so you know... Jazz didn't have a single Spark in him that is why they couldn't bring him back... however Bumblebee did.

Spoil...well, it's in the title:
One of my friends who read the "Pre-Script" said, that in it, Megatron did actually EAT the spark of Jazz, after he ripped him in two!
That is, why Megatron actually has those crazy hands. It's for taking sparks.
I'm VERY waiting for that DVD with the scenes that were deleted!

Yer... that will be good, though in some scenes Jazz was bigger than Bumblebee.

Bumble, I dunno if you noticed, but Prime had BOTH peices of Jazz in the scen you described. What you were seeing prominatly was just his torse, thats why looked so small

According to the scales give to us about a year ago, Jazz stans at about 13 feet in height, while Bumblebee is roughly 17 feet tall.

I think Jazz could've been saved. He was ripped at the torso so his spark could've been fine. Hell Frenzy got his head cut off and lived.

Poor Jazz... He didn't stand a chance against Megatron and my gf had some tears from when he died.

An Autobot HAD to go.
7 out of 8 Decepticons got the axe, so they couldn't just let every Autobot live. They had to make this feel like a war with casualties on both sides.
I'd have preferred Ironhide, but Jazz was the only other possibility. Rachet wasn't in the movie long enough to be a legit sacrifice.

None of the Autobots felt like they could have been a legit sacrifice. Jazz was the only one of the three to stand out though.

Megatron ripped the spark out of him...

While we're on the Jazz death topic, if you think about it, it's kinda odd that Prime just stands holding both halves so nonchalantly when they're talking about it.

Jazz shot Megs what, 5 times, and was the first to take on Brawl?
Not bad for such a little bot, although I think that he's prime for resurrection with the remainder of the allspark energy that sector seven was playing with or the shard that Optimus recovered.
I also don't think all the decepticons are dead either.

I doubt he will be resurrected in the 2nd movie.
Anyway lets get back on topic about their sizes...

They're dead.
1. It would cheapen the seriousnesses of the war to just bring everyone back to life.
2. The series needs an infusion of new transformers to promote for another movie, not a re-creation of the same cast. Other than Megatron in some capacity, I don't see why.

Maybe they should make Galvatron come into the story.
And maybe someone could replace Jazz... because Optimus Prime said at the end "Optimus Prime to all Autobots, if you are out there, were waiting."

hence the point. An infusion of new characters, not a resurrection of the old.
The Dinobots will almost certainly be in the sequel in fan demand alone. Hopefully also some Autobot air support (Jetfire) so we can have one of the few things Bay left out of the first movie: a 1-on-1 transformer duel in the sky.

Admittedly, it's probably the weakest point in the movie for the Autobots: any sense of loss was kinda...well,
lost for someone that was supposedly Prime's second-in-command.
As for the size thing: did anyone notice a slight inconsistency before the finall battle and after? It almost seems like Jazz got even smaller when he was facing Megatron and was being held (in pieces) in Optimus' hands...

Prime was pretty apathetic in this movie. "Jazz is dead, but hey, we got some new human pals! That sure makes up for it." Haha. Oh well, I loved the movie overall, can't wait for the sequel.

Didn't 3 of the Decepticons survive?

Well Starscream took off into space, Frenzy seemed pretty resilient, and Barricade COMPLETELY DISAPEARED in the middle of the freeway scene. So yeah, maybe 3. Jazz was about half the size of Optimus if not smaller. And he's got a tiny upper body on his frame, he's mostly legs. I think the scale was correct. Prime could easily hold his upper half in one hand. It was just creepy that he was holding the other half of him in his other hand. And they all seemed a hair inaffectual about it, that was weird. Maybe it was just another effort to display how 'alien' they are. Besides, how many good friends had they seen die over the last however many thousands of years?
