Now that I have seen the movie I want to make a few suggestions for the sequel.
I think James Cameron would be a better fit for the role as director since he has better idea how to make robot movies (T2).
This time please make Megatron a G1 a gun and use Frank Welker as for the voice over. The voices really do make the characters as well as the designs. Most of the decepticons designs were crap except for Baracade and Blackout.
The positive thing about this movie was Cullen as Prime and the other Autobot designs were decent.

There is no way in Hell Megatron will ever be a P-38. Ever ever ever again. Seriously, it isn't going to happen. If they can't make a toy out of it, it isn't going to be a main villains alt mode.

Jim Cameron? For what?
You want optimus holding bumblebee by the waist over the tip of the ark?
"I'm king of the univerrrrrrrse!"
I'm assuming the first post is spam or a straight-up Joke, seeing as it is ILLEGAL to make a realistic toy gun now.
Look, I'm the biggest G1 fan you will find on this Earth.
If you expected them to exactly re-create the G1 cartoon, you need to grow up with the rest of us.

noooo! a gun for megatron will be so retarded. that would have to be a huuuuge gun you know, and that sure wouldnt blend in anywhere. and it would just seem stupid havin all these awesome robots and then a pistol that needs someone else to shoot.

ROFL!
Seriously, I really doubt James Cameron would have any interest in doing a TF film. I thought Michael Bay did a great job and I honestly hope he signs on for the sequel.

I'd have fun watching Megatron having Optimus dead-to-rights, and suddenly trying frantically to remove the orange cap from his fusion cannon.....

I agree with the comment that the voices really do help the movie. In my opinion Peter Cullen owned that movie and I don't care who you are. If you didn't grow up with it I sure hope you were captivated by his voice. Frank Welker is a voice actor, he knows how to pull off a bad ass megatron yet make him interesting. That's the major thing this movie lacks the Autobots and decepticons, except for Prime and BB, really weren't that interesting. I can see why Cullen wished he had done Ironhide's voice because who ever did it was boring. The Decepticons, save Barricade, were pretty boring too. I guess it's pretty expensive to have all al these CGI characters in different scenes interacting with eachother. Unless, ofcoarse, this movie was just meant to be an introduction with Prime as the embassador. One can only hope.

I hope he does too. He took a lot of heat(some from me, early on) but this movie is out of the park, see ya later good! Totaly nailed it. He deserves to continue his vision of TF's.
I dont get these people who needed more from the movie in way of plot thickness. WTF? Its an action flick not Shawshank. For all I care they could have started the movie with robots fighting have the battle last two hours, end it and not have a word in between.
F**k yeah!

'Bay is the worse thing to happen to Transformers since Action Masters ...
Bay's new Transformers is fun in its own goofy way, and there are
enough sops to the fanboys that most will go home happy. Peter Cullen
reprises his role as the voice of Optimus Prime, and the screenwriters
manage not one but two invocations of the immortal phrase "more than
meets the eye."But there's nothing even approaching the original's
narrative depth. The good guys beat the bad guys, and no one we care
about is harmed in the process—the movie hasn't succeeded in making us
care about anyone. Prime comes across as a stand-up guy, but we have no
real sense of Megatron's motivations or of Starscream's ambition.
Bumblebee, the robot we spend the most time with in the movie, doesn't
get a speaking part until the penultimate scene. The high-octane
violence and PG-13 attentions lavished on Megan Fox's torso may attract
some new young fans, but in the end Bay's Transformers feels timid
compared with the 1985 version.

"the originals' narrative depth?"
I must gave been watching a completely different cartoon when I was little....
comparing a 2-hour movie to a 3-year cartoon series is silly at best...

so is taking the "Robot element" from a movie based about Alien Robots. Bay ruined Transfomers and will do so to TF:v2

He has even been quoted on record that he didnt make the movie for the Fans o.O WTF ... then by that logic the only reason you made the movie is to make Money $$$
now that's just silly ..
at best

Narrative depth of the cartoons???... cocaine is a hell of a drug.
Bay did a great job, he is perfect for TF. Cameron would make it too much like Terminator and if I wanted to see Terminator I'd go see Terminator, but I don't.

Your attitude is the worst thing to happen to TF's since action masters.
And what does Stan Lee have do do with Transformers? Thats like the Fonz commenting on the quality of the Beverly Hillbillies remake! Not to mention his self intrest in degrading a competior for best comic based action movie.

He ruined it for you, not everybody.
After seeing it last night, I can't think of any other director I WOULD want instead of Micahel Bay for a TF sequel. He's won me over.
Guess what: most of the fans agree with me.

no .. it doesnt
and no my additude is fine. I have watch transformers grow from infancy and die then try to be revitalized again ...
other than throw Transformers in to the mainstream media, what did Bay do ?
He certainly didnt invent Transformers. I am not saying that it sux becux its not G1 or G2 or RID or Energon or any of that.
I am saying that a better director who takes in to account ALL of the information, mythos and what not could do a better job.
I have seen many of movies made by both Cameron and Bay
Bay doent get it. Transformers is about The Transformers, not the humans they happend to stumble accros
I could see Camron doing a TF sequel much better.
Concept images aside, i am not loosing any sleep due to how the robots look ... Bay did not put the "character" into the robots. To him (Bay) they (the TFs) were just robots. secondary players in a "human" story.
Thats just wrong.
and Stan Lee has nothing to do with this ... i was just uing his quote ^^

Honestly Nem I don't think that Hasbro would not give Bay all the info he needed to make a movie.
Honestly though He did a great job with the movie. Would some people like to see different directors with this movie?? Of course they would given some (not all) of Bay's past works. It will be hard pressed for any director to top this work done by him.
