How many people think the writers screwed up their own story?

I am just putting this out there to see what people say. Did the writers get ahead of themselves and contradict how the All Spark actually works and make the mythology vague and full of holes? Does anyone think they screwed up or it was intentional?
It's looking like they screwed up to me. And what happened to some of the characters? Movies usually tie up these lose ends somehow even if there is going to be a sequel.

they did some editing to shorten the movie thats why it seems confusing. go pick up and read the movie novel that will answer yout questions. the book will also have the missing scenes that we saw in the trailer and not in the movie.

I think they kinda left it open one way or another was on purpose.
Ratchet saying to Prime that the Allspark MIGHT kill him was intentional. Megs could be dead or it could alter him into Galvatron for one of the sequels.

Valid point... but I shouldn't have to read the novelization to get the full story.
In anycase, maybe it's me but the only plot hole I see is how are there going to be newly created Transformers.

In the original series, I suspect that Optimus Prime was able to be resurrected due to his prolonged contact with the Matrix.

No, Optimus was resurrected the two times in Season 3 by being rebuilt by a Quintesson. The matrix actually conflicted with the reprogramming the Quintessons gave him in "Dark Awakening" and caused him to see that he need to sacrifice himself once more.
Something about Movie Marketing...

My friends and I have been studying movie marketing for years. And something that I think might not of occured to the people in this thread, is that it is now the norm to make "Director's Cuts" and "Speacial Editions" to sell more DVDs.
Use the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy as an example.
Or the many version of most of James Cameron's films.
These holes are what will prompt us to pay the $25-$35 dollar "speacial" versions that will make them more money in the long run. With "deleted scenes" that never should of been taken out in the first place.
It is also one of the better ways to curb piracy.

They're not new. They're pre-existing.
SC's talking about new life. If the AllSpark is what gave birth to life on Cybertron, now that it's destroyed, how is there going to be any new life created?

"whats better special edition or directors cut?"
Usually they are the same thing. But this is not always the case.
The Director's cut of "Last of the Mohicans" has pretty much all the good lines for one of the main characters taken out of it. The Speacial edition has all the lines and the deleted scenes that had been added to the "Director's Cut" in place of the scenes with said good lines.
As for new ones...

It really depends how far they want to go away from the previous story.
In G1, Vector Sigma was the source of the personality of all transformers.
When Wheeljack made the Dinobots, he didn't take them to Vector Sigma. And that is why the Dinobots have the primitive barbarian-like personalities that they have.
When Prime had the Aerialbots made, he did take them to Vector Sigma and as a resault they did get real personalities.
New transformers could be built. How they would develop pretty much depends on whether or not they would go this route.

Another thing they left open:
Prime pulls a tiny bit of the Allspark outta Megs chest after his "death". Being a bit remains, new life could be created.

And in breaking news, Russell T Davies of Doctor Who and Torchwood fame has been brought on board to script the next movie to resurrect Megatron and the AllSpark.
If anyone can pull off the impossible, it's RTD.

I noticed that--and had the same thought. Plus, that which is popular and sells can always be resurrected.
I was sad that
they still offed Jazz, despite that he is (forgive me my opinion) a wannabe and shadow of his awsome G1 self. I just know some of the "dead" 'cons will make a comeback, so maybe other things can be dealt with. There are ways and ways, if one is only willing to suspend credulity...and we
are talking giant alien robots, here.
