I read somewhere that when Megatron first woke up from his stasis lock, the first thing he said was "Insects..." But when I saw the movie, the first thing he said was, "I am MEGATRON!" So what is up with that? Was the "insects" quote a lie or an actual deleted scene?

NO, he said I AM MEGATRON!! when he thawed out, but in the final battle he did flick a human away like an insect

This is a matter of variation between the movie and the novelization. Personally, I think the "I am Megatron" bit dropped Megs's apparent intelligence quite a few points. But then, when he is chasing Sam and calls him a maggot, as well as the "disgusting" comment when he flicks the random human, he gets a little of that good old attitude back.

Yeah, I liked that part. lol.

i found it kinda wierd when he said it cuz he wasnt even really talking to anybody. or was he just saying that to all the humans trying to escape death?

My view was that he was saying it because he may have been partially alert but unable to move and when simmons and sam are bickering back and forth between nbe1 and megatron that Megatron wanted to make sure people knew his name.

i treat it like a 'i am unicron' homage that and probably megs wanted people to know who's gonna make them their beeotch

Personally, I like the line, but I think it would have worked a lot more had it been more along the lines of this.

"You puny insects thought you could hold me, but you have failed. Now your failures shall lead to your doom, for I am Megatron, the harbringer of your destruction."

I noticed a lot of difference between the book and the movie. As for Megatron's first line, I think it was like announcing to everyone that he was back...and pissed!
