Did Bay use stock footage from pearl harbor?

they probably modified it a little (the bottom pic doesn't have the planes on it and so on). Did the original pearl harbor use CGI for the ships?

wouldn't suprise me, i've read about director's recycling certain cut scenes and overviews in various movie's they've made

Nice observation!
Bay usually has the same type of shots. Like when Frenzy is fighting Keller and Maggie, the camera spins around the room. Bay did it in Bad Boys II (ugh) and The Rock (I think)

If you read the article linked in the first post there's an explanation at the bottom, the image from "Peal Harbor" was actualy modified with CGI to make a shot of a new carrier look like a WWII era carrier, so the shot from Transformers is the original unmodified shot.
