The figures for the first full week of screenings in Australia has been released.

Source - MPDAA

Transformers amassed $11,466,168AUD ($9,815,483.48USD) for it's first week which when records are updated will most likely put it at #2 this year for first week showings.

It also cements Transformers as the #1 movie in Australia.

It certainly was popular when I went to see it at the local cinema the other week. Doesn't surprise me at all - even Margaret and David thought it was halfway decent ;)

They did? I've been looking out for their review.

Figured if it can appease those two then it can't be all that bad.

Two weeks ago, I believe (maybe week of premiere) If my memory serves me correctly, they gave it 3.5 stars each. Which from them, is pretty good for a mindless Michael Bay action movie (I knew it! I knew Margaret was a closet Trans-fan! :P )

Margert (as I call her, since she can never pronounce names and words correctly) and David both gave it 3.5 out of 5, both said it was probably the highest amount of stars for a Michael Bay film they had ever given. Too bad they barely touched on the film in the review though.

Transformers needs only about $5 million more to pass Wild Hogs on the top films of 2007 list. It's only got another week before it will be relegated to film #2.
