ebay got plenty of attention, but who cares. It was one hell of a great movie. The truth is, nearly all movies have such product placements in them. Some more subtle or more blatant than others, but it's there. We also had the military, GM cars, Mac Truck, Los Angeles, and so on.

All that stuff was just background filler. The main characters and story were still the focus.

I thought it was a big ebay advertisement. At first I was like, haha, k, but then it never really stopped. It felt like every other word was ebay or paypal lol

Just about every movie cranked out by Hollywood is a giant advertisement. It's called "product placement". It's how studios protect their bottom line in case a movie tanks at the box office. Most other movies are just better at being more subtle about it.

who gives a crap?, when i walked out of the movies, i was thinking, dam optimus kicked ass! not , hmmm i might go on ebay and buy myself an x box, nerf hoop, ferbie and pontiac, then i might grab a mountain dew and wash it down with some pepto bismol. while i pay for it with my new paypal account.

yeh id say the large robots were more interesting, what can u do, product placement is everywhere

Transformer has alway been an advertisement from the beginning! But, all movie are partially advertisement. Tell me, how much movie include a bottle of Coca-Cola or show a Mc'Donald! That was wasn't subtle.

Ummm, most of that stuff are things we see everyday, anyways. Go to the mall, you'll see people buying a 360 at any videogame retailer. Go just about anywhere and you'll see a soda machine. Cars are everywhere. What teenage male hasn't had a nerf hoop at some point in their lives? Most homes usually have Pepto Bismol in their bathroom cabinet.

The only thing I've never seen is a giant furby trailer. Regardless, like I said, all the things you mentioned are things we see everyday. If anything, Bay didn't make the movie some big advertisement. He made the world in the movie more genuine and realistic.

In case you didn't notice there are toys based on the characters in this movie, so um...yeah big advertisement for a toyline.

Hey hasn't hasbro been doing that for 23 years or so now?

This wasn't the first time... I remember when there was another sci-fi robot movie in the past that had huge product placements all over it... And Will Smith was in it...

:BOT: For the most part, I thought the product placement served the story pretty well.

Except for the Mountain Dew machine... that's just for laughs LoL :CON:

And YOU are one big advertisement for going on TF forums and wearing TF shirts and being seen buying TF's and talking about the TF movie and being seen going to the TF movie and...okay, I'll stop.

But have you ever gone anywhere in your everyday life without seeing a bunch of advertisements and logos everywhere? I highly doubt it.

This is all one big advertisement. We as Trans-fans are advertisements to any person we talk to Transformers about.

Product placement is everywhere, in every movie, in every TV show. It's just really obvious in Transformers. :P

For Robots in Disguise, 'Subtle' doesn't seem to be in their vocabulary.

its better than when you see something in a film and they had to block it out or put tape over it because they couldn't get the rights. That takes you out of reality more, I agree with most people, every were you look you see advertising, billboards, all kinds of sh*t trying to get you to buy there products. so what if he had endorsement deals, its probably why the effects were so bad ass for 150mill. It makes you wonder what they spent all their money on for spider-ham 3. this movie looked like it cost 200million.

you know what i didn't notice till the second time.. well, the morning sam gets up and sees his car leaving again (the night after the cop interrogation scene), he rides the bike and sees his lady eating breakfast yadda yadda, then barricade enters, and then it's nighttime before the bb and barricade get it on, but it's a matter of seconds in the movie. those continuity errors. but whatever, maybe that stuff only bugs people like me anymore
