Thank you for sharing this information with all of the new people. I bet a lot of people don't even know that there is a prequel comic book series and a prequel novel to accompany the movie.

It's a part of the story. I have to ask, do you find that odd? This isn't G1 or anything else remade, it's a new story with different storytelling....

I thought he was referring to him as "brother" since they are both Cybertronian, and both are "children" of the Allspark.

I wouldn't think they'd have parents in the normal sense, since they don't reproduce that way...

Okay, for the new guys, I apologize for my brashness. Anyway, the story goes, in the prequel comics, that OP and Megs ruled cybertron as equals. Part of the Dynasty of the Primes (That comes from the original script).

Theres also an "official" prequel novel called GHOSTS OF YESTERDAY, great read but doesnt follow exactly to the movie.

All these resources will help you fill in the blanks for this new lineage of Transformers.
