Okay now tell me if I'm wrong here but at the end when they toss Megatron into the ocean isn't his right arm missing? Now in the cartoon wasn't his cannon on his right arm? If so then wouldn't it be likely that in the next movie Megs might actually get an arm cannon?
Think about it
(Also if for some reason this does not warrent its own thread or has been brought up in before sorry in advance)

You're right on both accounts. I just dont see how he would be alive and why he would need a cannon for an arm.
But an underwater base does seem possible with that ending....

Oh, that would be a major twist! They dump the "dead" 'cons into the drink, and there happens to be a Decepticon base set up down there to retrieve and repair them.

Prime would simply have a cow.

The scary thing is that might be a new catch phrase for him in the sequels. *shutter*

How did Megatron lose an arm and a leg? Was it when he was shot up by the F-22's?

He somehow can be repaired by the last shred of all spark or something to that nature. And, why not give him an arm cannon it'd be moving him closer to the classic G1 megatron.

A robot being rebuilt from a remaining arm... I smell Terminator. I like it!

Maybe the all spark revives him from within, such as frenzy used it to 'regenerate'(plaease correct if wrong)

Also Scream survived, don't he? Maybe is the next leader with other reinforcements, or meaybe the next Decep leader will be Shockwave..., but I'll "miss" the indestructible Meggy..., lasted so in the comics and cartoons, lasted so less in the movie...

I dunno if i want him to be galvatron in the next movie, we barely got to know Megatron in this movie, and he already becomes galvatron in the next? Then again, if he became galvatron in a third film, it'd be kinda dumb for him to be revived twice. I think in the second film he should look different but still be called Megatron.

Eh. The question is, why does he need to become Galvatron in every reiteration of Transformers made? The answer is, he doesn't. Let him be Megatron. Just because it happened in Generation 1, doesn't mean it has to happen in every different version, and variation of the story.

I agree, I think Galvatron is a convenient and "forced" update to suit on the 1986(¿?) cartoon movie, unable from the makers to create a new bad leader, or why not better to keep the great Optimus..., Hot Rod?? Just an amateur...

Interseting questions were raised by this movie indeed. Like what happened to Barricade, Starscream's escape into space, did he fire missles into the back of Megatron in the confusion? will the allspark regenerate into the matrix?

Well, Prime said the only way to keep Megatron from getting the Allspark was to merge it with his own Spark, sacrificing himself. Sam decided to merge it with Megs instead but theres no guarantee that it would have the same affect on him.
Im sure Megatron is dead. I don't think Bay will bring him back off pure principle. But I'd definately like to see upgrades to the TF's and GESTALT TF's!!!

I'm almost 100% positive Megatron, in some shape or form, will be in the sequel(s). Due in part to Megatron having been what seems the "least" destroyed (physically), and because he's
Megatron.
