Bumblebee pees on a guy. What the hell? That's not Transformers. That's not even Gobots.
Of all of the movie's many problems, the humor was the worst. When the "funny" scenes weren't tortuously over-long they were just offensive. Piss and race jokes. It's just a damn shame.

Tell me one of the race jokes that didn't involve someone speaking Spanish. /:)

I liked it when Bumblebee took a piss on on that Sector Seven
douchebag. Serves that guy right.

Yeah, my dad hates that kind of humor, but he was cracking up when he saw it.

I did too.

Tasteless, unwarranted, and not exactly an original joke.

Moving on ...

It seems like there's new threads about certain topics (like Bumblepee) every few hours. STOP DOING THAT. Try to find an extisting discussion to join in.

On the Bumblepee subject, he deserved it, it was funny, it was original since I've never seen a peeing robot, and he wasn't peeing, just leaking lubricant to make it look like he was peeing.

The Indian Operator is open for debate (tech help being what it is today), but the hysterical black character and his family were an awful, barrel-scraping shame. The "Stupid Mexican" stereotype was retched too.
I'll admit that calling out the cloying, Gunga Din-ish middle-eastern boy might be going too far, but Spielberg (and Lucas) have a bad history with subservient minority characters- ("You call him Doc'ta Jonz!" "Meeza Ja Ja Binks!").
The fact of the matter here is that the humor was cheep, unoriginal and worst of all- not funny.
You make it sound as if it would be OK if Spanish speaking people were the only ones to be made fun of. It's not.
Normally, I'm all for offensive, f'ed up humor- just not in Transformers. And it MUST be funny. That's what keeps it from actually being offensive.

That's about 9% of the movie's humor. What about the rest? And why does the humor suck in your opinion? We don't have to agree with you...in fact, most of us don't. :P

Have you seen a comedy movie within the past two years that didn't go into racist humor at one point?

I don't go to most comedies, so I couldn't tell you.
For the record, some of my favorite comedies are TEAM AMERICA WORLD POLICE, THE ARISTOCRATS and BORAT. The race humor in all of these films is actually a conscious comment on racism. What I'm complaining about is the kind of humor that derives from people not really understanding that there's anything wrong with exploiting racial stereotypes.
That and the piss jokes. The piss jokes are stupid and could have been thought up by a three year old.

Piss joke. There was only one.

And the comedy is a minor part. This is an ACTION movie, after all.

I just looked for a topic that was about this particular subject on the first 2 pages (I did a quick scan mind you so I may have missed something) and did not notice any thread that dealt with this subject.
It may be part of another topics discussion but not the main topic.

From now on let the mods make the warnings. If you or anyone else see something then shoot us a PM, don't take it into your own hands.

Oh, PM coming your way.

Preach it.

The humor in the movie is the reason I haven't gone back, despite the fact that it was so awesome.

I knew a lot of what to expect from this movie, I knew about the peeing, but otherwise, the humor was something I literally didn't see coming at all.

I only really laughed at one point in the entire movie. A real laugh, not just an instinctive laugh because everyone else is laughing, but a real laugh.

And I can't even remember what it was, but I was literally, in an almost full theatre, the only one who laughed. Must have been a fan-based reference, but says a lot about it that I don't remember what it was.

Never has a movie been so awesome and yet so lame.

Unfortunately a badge from a non moderator means nothing.
If it turns into something where people start making their own badge avatars and then try to "play mod" I will nip that in the bud REAL quickly.

It's a bit of a joke thing with us Party Forum people. We know we don't have power, though. We always make up a squad for our badges.

Yes I noticed a few badges here and there from those that frequent the party forum.

Well as a fan that saw two different times, I think that many people write off the humor.

First, I will say that this movie was designed to appeal to everyone, and everyone should be happy that his/her childhood was not destroyed by Bay and co. Instead, we got a heck of a movie! Now, I saw the first showing at 8, and the reaction was very similar to everyone from this forum. Not many agreed with BB humor, and all clapped and cheered as the reinforcements came, prime takes out Bonecrusher, laughed at various moments. My second time around was a early showing on the 4th. The composition of the audience were mainly parents with their childern or young teenagers. The cheers, claps, and laughs all came at the jokes that many in these forums aren't agreeing with. For example, the 8 pm showing couldn't stop laughing at the Bernie Mac scene and hated the damn subplot with aussie girl and black hacker. However, it was completely reversed for the july 4th showing.

Lets, be happy that Bay made a damn great movie. It entertains various audiences at all plot points. Personally, I want it to bring in $400-500 million for a bigger production for TF2.
