Michael Bay Lays On Blame

A fascinating article by Variety’s Nikki Finke. I didn’t realize that Tom DeSanto and Don Murphy, the film’s producers, and in the pre-Bay days, the film’s champions, actually took issue with both the script and the robot designs. Before Bay, or even Spielberg, it was just Tom and Don pitching the movie to various studios. Seems like those of us unhappy with the final product, aren’t so alone after all.
“Tom proceeded to tell me how much he had problems with the robot designs and script issues. I realized he was worlds apart in my vision.”
“I never spoke creatively with Don. I read his notes kind of trashing the script and making me and the writers feel like a big **** pile.”
Quote M Bay.
