Campaign Interest

Psych has issued an invitation for constructive feedback and thoughts on continuing this campaign. I, for one, am all for this so long as the scoring system is redone to accommodate an imbalanced player base.

You're welcome to post your thoughts here, also, but I encourage you to post them in Psych's thread. This thread is more for measuring interest from this faction for the purpose of figuring out what we would need to do to make it work with the interest we have.

That poll title was made just for you, Turbo! :x :KREMZEEK:

I'd started to think that the campaign had fizzled out, so it would be nice to see it continue.

There had been talk off and on about them, behind the scenes, but this is the first actual step to getting them going again. Very exciting, if we can garner enough interest! :MAXIMAL:

I liked it, but I felt bad how draining it was on some people. I'm okay with losing because I usually got lots of XP in tournament rounds, but people like Jack would lose a nights sleep during parts of the tournament (according to forum posts). I might be wrong, but I'm assuming that's why he doesn't currently play, he was too committed and burned out.
Of course this happens with any online game, not specifically this one.

Scavenger hunt was cool once I got in the habit of making a text document of mission logs.
Looks like having certain alts as rewards may be easier to do soon. :D

Jack was definitely reaching some sort of limit by the end of it. He didn't even really participate in the last few and haphazardly so in the scavenger hunt. Didn't expect him to simply vanish, though.

Also, yes about the alts! :-D In more ways than one! :x

I got really drained on the last event. I don't care about winning or losing, but the fun atmosphere just wasn't there by the end of it. Greatly enjoyed the smack talking, though! Would love to see another scavenger hunt!

I got incredibly drained/burned on TF:Earth Wars because of their constant weekend events. If it was an individual event I had to push myself, if it was an Alliance event, I had to push myself even further. I eventually reached a point where I planned my weekend around the stupid game.

Pokemon Go however, regardless of your feelings about Pokemon in general, has an awesome balance. Once a month they have a "community day" which really only runs for three hours, so on a Saturday, from 1pm - 4pm you have a chance to catch lots of a specific Pokemon.

This system is so much easier. You're not committed every weekend, you're only committed once a month for three hours, and that's if you want to. You don't have to worry about Alliance egos!

So I'm all for a once a month tournament. What I'm not sure is the time frame. Do we run it all weekend and people take hourly naps? Perhaps we run it for a set period of missions?

Time frame for an event should be in part based on what the event is.
During the Scalp Hunt, we had some down time between rounds, which gave us all chance to catch or breaths, and the Scavenger Hunt was about getting into missions, so having a longer time allocated isn't hard as we were all empowered to manage our own logs of what we'd got.
