Superior armor question

I'm ready to add my armor to Shadow Saber but I'd like to know which of the rank six armors is better or if it doesn't matter. Does anyone know if there are differences, or if there are two armor's per level for purely cosmetic reasons?

I'm assuming the more expensive armors are better

Here's a tip: Carbon Fiber is pretty much like having no armor.

I've heard good things about ceramic

What about the choices at level 6

I am assuming you are using Nucleon Tempered Titanium for this. How is it working out for you? Seems to be working pretty good for me. It isn't electrum or anything, but it gets the job done.

Thanks for that EP - the duck isn't wearing any armor at the moment but that might change if I suffer enough defeats in a row (I'm unwilling to tweak things at the moment as I'm enjoying pretty nice success rates)

Why mess with things if things if they are working.

Nice bio for the duck, btw.

I made the mistake of getting the L10 Nano-Regenerative armor. Although it makes you nearly invulnerable to non-tactic attacks, it does not help against tactic attacks. I kinda screwed myself because that armor cost me 1 million energon. If SPL 3 is set for a level lower than 7 thus forcing me to reset, I am so screwed!!!!

I have a good feeling I know what its going to be for round 3 and it will require a reset. Thing is that higher level armor will be good for next round, if I am indeed correct in what round 3 will be.

It was too bad that you didn't join in on our discussion on set ups. I have posted before that armor only works on punches, kicks, and weaponry attacks. Endurance is where you want to go to minimize ram and strafe. I think most commanders are going with Level 6 armor because that is the last economical armor before you start paying out the nose for it and it still is effective in stopping damage to <10% per hit.

Predicting next round will have a ban on strafe/ram?

Yeah. Action master => no alt mode. All punching and kicking and weaponry. Though I have no idea what the XP range will be. Definitely enough to be > to Level 5 so we can't get into the missions and mess things up there. It will definitely be less than what we have now.

I just seems to me the most logical step next after this round. Making a level 8 bot just lets you max out all important categories. It could go in the direction of making everyone use either single or dual tactics. Or setting limits on how far you can upgrade certain stats (like strength, endurance, speed or courage) or making a minimum for certain stats (like intel, firepower or rank).

You know EP, you really should learn how to shut up, anything you say will just cause us to develop even more evil plans.

I tell them nothing. I just tell them what I'm speculating. Let them know what is logically the next step in the tournament. Can't keep going upwards else it will be a slap fest at level 10 with everyone at maxed out stats. There is still a lot that can be done with limitations set. Suppose now you are going to make me be a repairer in the arena next round with 0 str and 10 intel. SUPER AUTOBOT ATTACK MODE!

:P

You lot just need to be thankful Psychout does most of the organising. I just toss ideas at him and he runs with what he likes.

And that's what makes me so damn good, i'm always devising ways to come up with contests that torment and challenge people, and the next stage, well I have a few ideas for that too. All of which are unique and never been done before, and i'm not done thinking yet.

Level 5 Actionmasters' isn't a bad idea. it would be good to see them going Toe to Toe with each other. Or a Battle Royal in the missions of all level 5s. I wouldn't mind seeing...5 on 5 or 10 on 10...could be crazy, but interesting.

Unfortunately, the mission idea wouldn't happen. Needs to be programmed into the game and that isn't happening in the current version of the game. Love to see the mission, too, as long as you could guarentee that they would be full on both sides to make it fair.
