I've been toying with this notion for quite some time, and now I think I'm just gonna shut my eyes, pull the trigger and go with it.

I'd like to come up with a new name for my team's commander Maximus Prime, primarily because I'd like to dissociate him from the previous owner of the name (the older guys around here will know who I'm talking about). So, since I am creatively challenged, I am open to suggestions.

He's still got to be a Prime (that's a given), and I'd like to stick with a Roman-esqe/Greek-esqe type name if that makes any sense. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

NovaRoma Prime or Novus Prima Roma or Novus Prime
Tiberius Prime Prime of Tiberius or Primerius
Titus Prime or Prime Titus Or Pritus
Andromache Prime Prime of Andromache or Priomache
Apollo Prime Prime of Apollo or Primeapolos
Heracles Prime or Prime of Heracles or Primeracles

I'd like to avoid using names of actual Roman or Greek figures, so things like Hercules or Apollo are out.

I've been inputting words I think are associated with an Autobot or a leader or a Transformer and converting them into names. Here are some of what I've come up with (just add "Prime" to the end of each one to get the actual name):

Vertorus (to transform, change, turn into)
Consurgous (to stand up, rise up, arise)
Ductorus (general, leader, commander, guide)
Rectorus (guide, leader, director, ruler, master)
Caputus (head, top, summit, chief, leader, captain)
Bellatorus (fighting man, warrior)
Vallorus (to surround, defend)
Obstorus (to oppose, defend, stand against)
Contegous (to cover, shield, protect, defend)
Servorus (to preserve, guard, protect, save)
Vindicorus (to liberate, avenge, protect, claim)
Excolorus (to honor, refine, serve)
Mactorus (to magnify, glorify, honor, slay, fight)
Adamansus (steeled, unyielding, adamant)

So, something like this is what I'm aiming for. Any other suggestions or comments are welcome.

(Just for reference, "Maximus" means greatest or largest in Latin)

(Dominus is Latin for Lord)

Ehhh, it's not bad. To be honest, when I first read that my mind went, "Domino!"

My only irk about it is it's kinda close to "dominate". Other than that, it's a decent name.

Any other opinions, suggestions, etc.?

What about a bit of thievery from the olympic motto?
'Citius' is a bit pants but either Altius Prime (Higher first) or Fortius Prime (Stronger first) sound pretty good to me.

Hmmmmm, I kinda like Altius Prime. It sounds a little like Altair from Assassin's Creed, who is awesome

I hadn't thought of that, I was leaning towards 'Fortius' myself with it having 'Fort' in the spelling but after your observation I reckon it's elliptical Assassin's Creed reference FTW

Ok, poll time (sort of)! Since I am incapabale of making decisions, I'm gonna put it to a vote here and see how many people respond

These are the five names I like the most, so I want y'all's opinion on which is the best. They are:

* Vallorus Prime
* Adamansus Prime
* Altius Prime
* Caputus Prime
* Vindicorus Prime

Of those, Altius Prime is my fav.

I actually like Vallorus Prime.. you know, Valor and whatnot...

I like Vindicorus, but after thinking about it, it's a little long. Max-i-mus. Vin-di-cor-us. Plus, when I'm writing fics (which I need to get back to doing someday), I'm not sure what I'd shorten Vindicorus to since I'd hate to keep typing it over and over


So, after much deliberation, Maximus Prime's new name shall be..............................Altius Prime. It's short, sounds cool, has an air of Altiar (rhyming unintended).
