My Character trask kicked ass in this one, he scored 18K+ xp...

18k+ xp for one hit that did 3% damage...... really?

XP is based on the amount of damage you do x the level multiplier.

So when you hit a level 10, you earn 1024xp for every 1% damage you do.

Level 0 - 1% = 1xp
Level 1 - 1% = 2xp
Level 2 - 1% = 4xp
...
Level 10 - 1% = 1024xp

And you actually did 18% damage - 18,832-400 (base earnings for a win) = 18432/1024 = 18% damage

Only thing is i can only find myself doing 3% damage right at the end no other attacks bar the last one that put arblast into stasis...

You did 18% damage. The tally doesn't stop when your opponent reaches 0%. It's what we call the "overkill bonus".

Some rams can do up to 50% damage. In a one on one, you beat your opponent down to 1%, then hit him with a 50% ram, you still do 50% damage. In total you do 149% in damage for the whole of the battle.
