it depends what versions, and at what point. with unicron alive and well boosting his power im probably going to say galvatron.

in the cartoons prime would probably defeat galvatron in any post movie encounter. in the dreamwave more than meets the eye comics written by furman he says galvatron can take on an army of primes without any trouble, so id guess in that universe galvatron would win.

I say Optimus and Galvatron cease fire, beat the **** out of Rodimus, and than get on to fight again, and the winner will be Galvatron. Much bigger firepower than Megatron, more agile, so Op doesn't have a chance.

I go with Optimus Prime.

I always have hypothesized, btw, that, in Season 3, it wasn't the lava that drove Galvatron insane but the realization that he got Rodimus as his enemy instead of Optimus. Everytime he got to fight Ultra Magnus or Optimus (in "The Return of Optimus Prime" and "The Rebirth"), he didn't seem to get those "headaches".

As we have seen in Rise of the Beasts, Prime can't win against the agents of Unicron without proper preparation - physical, mental and emotional. He needs to get psyched up. He needs to think about strategy and tactics. He needs to avoid harming the innocent during the battle. When he's ready, he can win.

Galvatron is easily a match for Prime so he's always got a chance. If he wants to make victory more likely, he can arrange something to hinder Prime: a trap, a hostage, advance warning of Prime's attack, etc. G1 Galvatron can shrink to handgun mode, so that would help in ambushing Prime. One big blast could blow Prime to pieces.

Basically, the outcome depends on levels of preparation and motivation.
