GENESIS vs. Death Star

Gundam SEED's Genesis (Gamma Emission by Nuclear Explosion Stimulate Inducing System):

It harnesses nuclear explosions, to create a highly powerful Gamma Laser, capable of destroying all life on a planet. And bodies near the beam inflate until they explode.

Star Wars' Death Star:

A gigantic space station, with the power to destroy entire planets. Not much else needs to be said.

Which one wins in a quick-draw? (Because only one shot is needed either way)

I say GENESIS. It doesn't take as long to prepare a shot. It's Phase Shift doesn't really matter, PS armor isn't immune to beam weapons. But the Mirage Colloid might give it the advantage, if the Empire doesn't know where to shoot.

Both would crash into each other, ending in a tie.

Then they would form a formal agreement among the two parties and create a larger, more powerful vessel out of existing parts from the Death Star and GENESIS.

Genesis makes a dead planet; Death Star makes a debris field that was the planet.

These devices don't operate without widespread knowledge. It's likely that the operators and their associates would find out about each others' plans and then try to sabotage each other. This probably won't be a straight fight. There will be plenty of resistance fighters and commando teams going in. In part, the outcome depends on those.
