Combiners Wars

Ok here's the deal: Who do you think is the strongest combiner robot ever. That includes not only Gestalts but also other combiners from animes and games. The robot must have at least 2 sentient beings inside it.

Here's a list of Gestalts:
http://www.seibertron.com/database/list ... oup_id=159

Others:
Dancougar
Shin Getter Robot (I won't name all the weaker ones as they are weaker.)
Combatler V
Voltes V
SRX (from Super Robot Taisen alpha series)
Gunbuster
Megazord (from Power Rangers)
Gekigangar 3 (from Nadesico)
Vandread
Voltron Lion Force
Voltron (2?)
Gaogaigar

There must be others. If you think you know one stronger than those already named, go ahead and name it.

:-? While The Beast is a huge Gestalt he is just an average sized combiner. I guess you people haven't seen Shin Getter Robot Armageddon, right? Or Gunbuster? Because those are the real contestants. The rest is mearly just background noise.

Not to say the Beast isn't cool. He is. In many ways. And a strong transformer too. But the two I named earlier could beat easily beat Unicron. No jokes. The Beast could probably beat Tripticon but not Unicron.

The real question is... which Voltron?!

Please tell me that it's the lions and not the vehicles.

The Lions! That is the only Voltron that exists for me. The good ol classic Lion Force BABY!!!

Once he forms that blazing sword you know your about to get completely P'wned!!!

I wondered "who's this Voltron who people say could beat a combiners?" So a little search on youtube showed me something I didn't expect. (in a way) I remember that robot I used to watch that show. He does look cool. I realy like this guy. But one has to prove to me that Voltron is powerful enough to beat the crap out of Shin Getter Robot (Who has God-like strenght) Up to now he seems in the league of Dancougar (who could easily beat Predaking)

Watch out. If you're looking for Shin Getter you will often see Getter Robot, Getter Robot G or Neo Getter Robot who are much weaker. I found this little picture here
Here you can see one of his most powerful attacks from Super Robot Wars Alpha 3. It's SD but you'll get the idea.

The legend of Voltron alone IMO is more than enough to conquer any of those other combiners. While it is true that your Shin Getter guy is one powerful force, I have yet to see anything that Voltron could not cut in half with that damn blazing sword of his. Matter of fact the only thing that ever really put him out of commission (temporarily at least in the Cartoon series)was Hagar's (The evil sorceress) magic that only managed to seperate Voltron back into his 5 lion ships in random areas of the planet Arus.

Seriously if you don't own one, the Masterpiece Voltron from Toynami is one of the best Gestalts I have ever purchased. He is very articulate and is die cast metal with nice chrome parts. My only complaint is that the chrome on the legs of the black lion chipped a bit after being inserted into the lions that form the legs, but not too bad though.

Voltron still reigns supreme in my combiner book!

actually I am overlooking one really noticeable weakness could turn the tides eventually. Voltron requires 5 conscious pilots of each Lion ship to create and control Voltron. destroy one if those crucial pilots and knock them out and then Voltron weakens or cannot be formed altogether.

otherwise he pretty much unstoppable.

The Getter saga goes back to 1974. 7 Years before Golion (Voltron Lion Force). The pilots are the same and are seasoned war veterans by the time Shin Getter Robot is complete. If by any chance Voltron could be fast enough to hit Shin Getter (That's if he doesn't get nuked before that), there still good chances Shin Getter could regenerate and beat the crap out of Golion. That's because Shin getter is built on a nanomachine technology that enables better fusion of the jets and regeneration of lost parts. Over that there's the Getter generator that's an infinite supply of energy. Shin Getter can teleport and move realy fast. It can change into 3 different robot forms to take better advantage of the situation.

Though I like Voltron, I must say he is doomed. From what I could find on youtube there's nothing to let me think he could even get close to Shin Getter in less than a thousand pieces.

Ideon wins.

To tell you the truth I didn't know much about Ideon. Beside the fact that it's suposed to be one of the most powerful mecha ever. I guess it ends this battle unless you consider that he has to hit. But I guess in the end Ideon would win.

Yep. It is composed of 3 huge flying truck or something. Verified it on both wikipedia and youtube.

A godlike mecha.

I haven't seen the anime yet but I've seen him slicing a planet in two. I also read that he destroys the universe at the end of the story. That's enough for me to give him the cup. But If I add the rule of not destroying the world, it only leaves Shin Getter and Gunbuster as possible winners. And if the battle has to be fought within earth's atmosphere, Shin Getter wins.

Another masterpiece by the creator of Gundam (Notice how closely Ideon looks like an oversized GM?) I think Z gundam, Aura Battler Dunbine and L-Gaim are also from him.

ideon's a poorly written mech, tomino overpowered that thing just so it will be remembered as 'strong enough to blow up the universe' not unlike a mecha that appeared in a Philippine comic that was smitted by God TWICE and still stood with enough power to destroy the world.

you failed to mention if you're talking about shin getter or shin dragon...now if you mentioned shin dragon then i woul've voted for that

"Combining? At this ridiculous number?"

I never mentionned Shin Dragon. But anyway Shin Dragon isn't quite a combiner. It's barely a mecha to tell the truth. Like a big pile of getter rays with a head as a cannon. It realy was Shin Getter Robo I meant. And the more I think about it, the more I'm sure Shin Getter could beat the crap out of Ideon before he could lift a finger. Ideon is super slow. It's barely faster than the Macross (SDF1 from robotech). Shin Getter while not being as powerful is as agile as a Gundam and is piloted by REAL MEN. (sometimes by a bunch of kids too but I want Shin Getter to win so...)

From the little I have seen, the pilots of Ideon barely control the huge thing. While Ryoma, Benkei and Hayato ARE Shin Getter. Even with an extremely underpowered getter, Ryoma alone trashed a whole army of Getter Dragons.

shin dragon not a combiner?!! saotome used a lot of getter robo gs' to make the core machines (even though they only appeared in the last episode shin liger and shin poseidon proved that shin dragon was capable of mode change).

anyhow i agree that shin getter can take on ideon, heck ideon can be beaten by nearly anyone, the trick is how to beat that overhyped peice of tin without blowing up.

In the IDW continuity, there was the 'Deceptigod' that was created by a god force called D-Void. It contained thousands of Decepticons. That's the most powerful combiner I know. It was smashed apart by Megatron, who turned his fusion cannon up to eleven. (Thanks, Spinal Tap!)
