Unless they fell in love with him first... The Potters.
That said, Sooty doesn't need to scream some bastardized latin to do a spell does he? The kids are wasting time.

Why do they call him Sooty when he's not black? He's orangey gold.
Also, the Harry Potter franchise got destroyed in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, vol 3.
