Let's see. Donkey Kong is a lot smaller than King Kong.
(Donkey = 2 * size of normal ape; King = 10 * size of normal ape)
But, if the battle is over who gets a lot of bananas, then I can see Donkey's determination to keep him going until he finds a way to be victorious. It was how it was in the DKC games.

Well this is a no brainer King kong been several times larger than Donkey Kong would step on Donkey Kong and that how we say is that.

No no, King would slip on the barrels that Donkey throws at him. Either that, or he'd jump into one of Funky's flying barrels, and circle around King Kong from the top of a building.

Default sizes: I HIGHLY doubt Donkey Kong can bull this off, even if he had an unlimited supply of barrels..

Donkey Kong has unlimited barrels. That's a crucial point.
King Kong is too big. His bones would break if he moved around. His heart would be too weak to pump his blood. His giant brain would make him a tormented super genius.
Donkey Kong wins. King Kong the super genius finds a way to escape our reality and ascend to a higher plane of existence.
