Darth Vader fights his Master. Who do you think would get owned?

Hence, Vader owned Sidious.

What tequila stu is trying to say is that Vader owned Sidious because he caught him by surprise. Sidious owned him in return too. His force lightning destroyed Vader's circuitry, mortally wounding him.

If Vader had never become a machine he would have become more than strong enough to defeat Sidious, as Sidious himself admitted to Yoda, "Lord Vader will become stronger than either of us."

But that Vader was never to be, thanks to his lava accident. In fact, he needed to try and enlist the help of his son to defeat the Emperor.

I'll lay it down like this; a theoretical Vader that never burned up in lava and that met his full force potential would own Palpatine with one hand behind his back. Robo-Vader, on the other hand, would be too vulnerable to force lightning.

I second ScorpoMax's opinion.

vader only killed sidious because the situation was perfect. he was the chosen one after all. sidious was placed in a vunerable place (so close to the shaft), was distracted by luke, and was already using his powers for combat, meaning its less likley hes going to be sensing vaders mood. and even with everything against him he still delivered vader a mortal wound. even if sidious didnt have force lightning hed win. vader in the auit has 80% of the emperors power.

if he had reached his potential hed have been double sidious though. so with no alternate dimensions or talking about the potential someone once had, sidious wins this fight easy. lightning would put an almost instant end to it, and even if it didnt sidious outclasses him in using the force, and his skill with a saber probably surpasses vader. vaders raw power makes him a force to be reckoned with, but sidious is too fast, and just too skilled.

What was lucky was Sidious saved by Vader from Mace Windu.
Mace was distracted too.

Vader was scared of his master because he was mostly machine and lost most powers he could of had if he was in one peice

He could never do the Force lightning and if Palps did it to him he gets electrocuted

.....As we seen in ROTJ

Now if Vader never needed the suit and was still in one peice I believe Anakin would be running the
Empire

In an equal and fair match, I think vader loses. Firstly, he's more machine than man, hence he's weak against electricity. Sidious is able to use Sith lightning on Vader and cripple his life-support system. This already weakens Vader by a lot.

The only way vader would win, with force lightning crippling his cybernetics you be to grab sidious in a death grip, crushing the life of his master. I think vader would have the guts to do it though.

It would really depend on which Vader we're talking about.

Baby Killing Vader from ROTS, or 4/5/6 Vader.

The Baby Killer would stand a chance against Sidious, however the traditional Vader would probably lose.

Does the death grip work against Jedi or Sith?

In ROTJ wasn't Vader fairly easily beaten by Luke, who was barley a Jedi at the time?

Sideous easy, since Vader is part robotic he can't stop a Force Lightning. Oh, if only he never went to Mustafar, Vader would be on top.

Agreed, Since vader had to have a portable life support system (that torso lite brite of his XD) if it were to go offline he'd be dead in minutes.

luke did beat vader, but i dont know how much vader was really putting into the fight. he was only toying with him trying to turn him for most of it, and then in the end luke surprised and overwhelmed him with the dark side. he had vader caught off balance and totally unprepaired.

had vader been there to kill luke it would have gone very differently. luke may have still won, but vader would have given a much better account of himself.

i also dont think catching the emperor by surprise and taking mortal injuries while throwing him down a shaft counts as "owning" him either. vader had all the advantages and it still killed him getting the job done. take the shaft out of the equation or the element of surprise and vader couldnt have done much but die along with luke. even with everything in his favor sidious still killed him.

If Anakin had been brighter, he could've detected DS earlier, maybe during 'Attack of the Clowns'. He could've set up some kind of ambush and stopped DS. I mean, even DS has to sleep! He'd be like a defenceless sand person!
