In this G1 Dinobot vs. battle, Snarl has taken an Energon bar away from Slag.
Which Dinobot walks away with the prize?

If it is just the two of them, then Snarl will win if it is on Earth (with the sun) and Slag will win if they are on Cybertron or if it is on Earth and in the night.

yeah, if you read the dreamwave profiles snarl is the 4th strongest dinobot under normal conditions. but with the sun out he becomes the second strongest and his endurance is pretty much unlimited. since neither of these two are really known for their in depth tactics or exceptional skill and fighting dicipline its going to come down to pure strength.
so with the sun snarl will beat every dinobot but grimlock(and maybe swoop, becuase extra physical strength wont help if he cant catch his opponent to use it), but without it slag would be too much for him.

Slag has more skill but Snarl is more intelligent. I think that, if Slag charges in triceratops mode, Snarl would be able to endure the fire breath for a short while. Note: Snarl is in robot mode. When Slag gets close, Snarl could kick Slag hard so that Slag rolls onto his back. While the horny fellow is momentarily defenceless, Snarl could drive his energo-sword into Slag's belly and slice him open. Slag would be crippled and his flame generator might explode. If Slag is still alive, Snarl could destroy his brain and thus kill him. Snarl doesn't need a solar boost for this strategy but it would help.
I know that the battle could easily go the other way, with a Slag victory. However, I get the impression that Slag is somewhat arrogant and overconfident. Snarl has plenty of experience with Slag and probably planned this fight in his imagination a long time ago. Snarl knows that he's a slow-moving target and needs many methods for self-defence. Slag is one of those bots who attacks before considering the consequences, like a mad dog.
