Well, it depends on which persona they both have.

Angelus vs. any Spike: Angelus wins.

Angel vs. Bad-a$$ Spike: Spike wins (as long as it is one-to-one).

Angel vs. Buffy's lapdog Spike: Angel wins.

Agelus Vs. ANy spike: Angelus

Angel Vs. Badass Spike: Spikes (he's killed 2 slayers)

Angel Vs. Buffy's lapdog Spike: Spike again he kicked his ass fighting for that grail.

In short I pick Spike he's a better Vampire and a better man.

Spike's always been a better fighter. Angelus preferred to 'bully' the weak, while William the Bloody would go out looking for trouble, pushing his limits. Angel picks up some moves fighting along-side Buffy, but Spike still has a lot more experience fighting than him.

Angelus could win via psych games, so Spike would be beaten before they ever traded blows, but Angel doesn't work that way, he'd jump straight into the fight.

So Spike wins.

Unless Angel's friends showed up. Which is usually what happened.

it depends on what their fighting for. spike has convincingly defeated angel before, and angel admitted the fact and said spike simply wanted it more. i think spike is probably a better fighter, with more experience and interest in it. but given the motivation angel would at least equal him.

My money's on Spike. All those years of abuse at Angelus' hands give him the edge.
