In a previous theme, they put TWO Battlestars against two ISDs. I believe Battlestars shall prevail, not applying leadership factor, of course.
But putting a single Battlestar against an SSD? I mean, get reasonable, man. The fact that Executor had bought it in Ep6 was because its shields were downed by concentrated fire from MC80s. But single Galactica won't be able to do it. And the fact that SSD's full complement of fighters and other crafts is significantly larger than battlestar's doesn't help those poor bastards in Vipers' cabins either.
"- The prisonner had been brought, Admiral!
- Wery well. Sent him in.
The doors slid open, and two Stormtroopers entered carrying a battered, bleeding man by his arms. The magnificent figure of Imperial Grand Admiral, sitting in a command chair, hadn't moved.
- So, this man calls himself Captain Adama?
- Yes, Admiral.
- Well, well... - the figure rose from his seat and strode forth, to inspect the prisonner.
- So, Captain... Do you mind to explain, who are you and why did you attack an Imperial ship? And, - Grand Admiral's face was a mere inches from prisonner's, - where in the first place did you came from?.."
Something like that.

Maybe they can try ramming the battlestar into it's bridge...

Best Galactica can pull off is a draw by ramming the SSD and killing everyone.
Galactica is way way way out gunned in this fight. Its tiny in comparison to a SSD its could probally dock inside it.

A-wings took out the shield generators...everyone knows that. And yes, Star Wars ship designers are stupid.
The SSD should still win.

in defence of the SSD the whole rebel fleet was commanded tp concentrate its fire on it and it went out of control rather than being destroyed until of course it hit the death star.

Exactly - if the crew had more time, they could have restored control and continued to pwn teh Rebelz but no, Mr Lucas has to let the good guys win...
curse you Lucas! *shakes fist*

I wonder if Galactica could send one of their pet Cylons to hack the Executor from the inside? It might be possible. However, the Executor crew would be on high alert because their ship is so prestigious and expensive.
Galactica seems to have more control over hyper jumps. They can jump close to Executor, fire weapons and then jump away with minimal damage. Rinse and repeat.
On the other hand, Executor can pepper space around her with mines and other weapons.
I think that this would be a tough battle. Galactica is a doughty ship but I fear that Executor is too much for her. As long as the Executor has good luck and a competent crew, she should win.
